Merry Christmas !!
At Christmas we reflect a bit on our last year.
This year we are thankful to all be together. We are healthy and happy.
We are thankful for friends, family and this great community that we are so BLESSED to live in!
Dave and I love this stage of life we are in. If we could freeze any time in the ages and stages of our kids I think we'd both pick this one so far...:)
We are still all under one roof. This is a treasure we don't take for granted. (Jordan lost a good friend this year and the wall in his room where he has hung lots of pictures in memory of Parker now reminds us to treasure each day we have together even more.)
Justin is engaged and I'm guessing this will bring some real life changes in 2020! Different... but good...:)
We already love having Eva Jane a part of our lives and these days she is already pretty much one of us! We look forward to summer when we make it even more real...:)
This Christmas eve day started out with an early morning run along the creek... This is a daily highlight... The first mile is cold and sometimes painful these days but the end result is always well worth the effort.
It is just always so pretty and refreshing down here and we see eagles and deer on many of our runs!... Sometimes the deer are hunkered down only ten feet from the road where we are running and they think we don't even see them...;)
We love CHRISTMAS SCHOOL BREAK!
Javon and Jordan did some last minute shopping while Jenika and I finished up some kitchen goodies... She is becoming so fluent in the kitchen! I love her company!
The table was set all week waiting for our Christmas feast... Tonight...
This was a fun time!!
Javon savored the flavor of his very large King Crab Leg! He LOVES seafood!
The gift exchange was fun! This year the kids got each other gifts...:) It was so fun to see what they shopped for and gave each other!
Justin gave slippers to his dad and Jordan. He and Eva gave Javon a bluetooth headset he can use for his drum set. They gave Jenika a cozy pillow and blanket...:)
Jordan gave the Little's a cute cozy teddy and Justin a sweatshirt from North Face.
Jenika and Javon gave Jordan a haircut gift card (since he could use a cut every week)
Javon gave Justin an Amazon gift card he was saving.
Jenika got her dad Chocolate Wilber Buds and she gave me cozy socks, honeysuckle soap and an arm band for my phone for when I run. I can't wait to use it!
The big kids gave Dave and I a gift certificate for Airbnb! We can't wait to use it!
We gave each one a little gift but we go bigger on birthdays and keep Christmas gifts more simple.
We got a few small things we knew Jenika and Javon wanted and the big boys got an Amazon gift card.
I had fun filling a box for Eva over the last few weeks...:) She is fun to buy for cause she has her own home and she loves the kitchen as much as I do... She is especially good at cupcakes...:) Look her up on instagram @evastreats to see for yourself!
This is happening here next to me now... The noise level gets crazy!! (the shirt Justin is wearing came from Jenika for Christmas... guess we know what she thinks of her big brother.. She gave us a good laugh! lol!)
Dave LOVES that they play Aquire with him!
Tonight the snacks will stay out. The games will go on.
Tomorrow we spend the day with my side of the family. Justin and Eva will go to be with Eva's family in Franklin.
Christmas is a BLESSING!
Winter is a BLESSING because things are slower and so cozy.
We enjoy games and earlier bedtimes.
We enjoy the Tower Garden more in winter... Right now its in the laundry room because it does better away from the houseplants...
We had a wonderful salad off of here for supper tonight...
The dogs around here are pretty spoiled... They enjoy the sun as much as I do and these days are actually pretty warm! We all enjoy warm while its here...
