We have excitement in the air as we come down the final home stretch of school before summer break!
The fun busy days of school are upon us now. We enjoyed a wonderful "talented" spring program last evening! The school gym felt so alive and full of life! It was such an exciting feeling! The kids did great and they did a wonderful job!
I was wishing the program had been on a Friday evening because I would have loved to celebrate there hard work with an all out late night with "before bedtime snack" but it was late already when we got in and it was up early to more school demands this morning. Jordan had to type a seven hundred word research paper and he had it almost complete last night but when he went into the computer to finish it up this morning he was so upset to see it was all lost! He had to start over! He took it like a man and got right down to typing it all over again before breakfast! I have been taking them to school these rainy mornings just to give them more time to wake up. It gives us an extra half hour and on a rainy morning this can mean a lot!
It for real feels like Columbia weather here! For weeks now we have had clouds, rain, drizzle and chilliness! It's funny how you just tend to kind of get used to it. We are running in the rain, people are doing mowing and other yard work in the drizzly, damp, chilly weather! It will be so nice to see sunshine again but this week again it looks like damp, chilly, rainy weather all week and even into next!
Jenika left excited this morning... Her field trip was today. They went to a museum and she was hoping to see dinosaur bones there!...:) She was up early helping me with breakfast and lunches. I just love her help along with cheeriness in the morning... she does an awful lot of chattering though and at times we are all telling her to "give it some time" before you get into stories... especially ones like this morning that went like this..."When Tina had a sleepover once her friend did this and that!" The rest of us take a bit to appreciate chatter so early in the day and we really could care less about Tina's sleepovers when Jenika was even there!...:) She is a blast for sure!! We think she takes after her "Mommy Zook" a bit...:)
Jordan has an all day ball tournament tomorrow for school and Saturday he has an all day one with his Gap Lightning team. Friday he has his field trip and this is a really long day to! He has a plate order that is waiting and it needs to go out tonight! He will need to let Justin take his pay this time because he is to busy to get them done. Justin will take over his order for this time I guess. Nice when a brother helps a brother out...:}
Javon has his field trip coming up on Friday to. He was green with envy as Jenika took her gift shop money and her sack lunch out the door this morning! He can't wait for his turn! Maybe we will actually be able to get him out of bed without complaint on Friday...:) They will see lots of trains on his fun day.
Justin is in the chamber again...
Next week we will go from twice a week to once a week. We are ready to not spend so much time at the Chiropractor but at the same time we are so thankful for this practice and how it is aiding in Justin's healing journey... His Therma Scan... We did it three times since his concussion... The red is bad inflammation... Yellow and light green is good... This looks a bit creepy but I want to show you how it works and the difference a week can make!
The bottom scan was taken today. I have been hearing great things about Therma scanning over the medical way. I think I will research some more on this.
Justin is back to playing ball. Doctor Steve says "not yet" but Justin won't hear of waiting any longer. He is back to work a bit more this week. Yesterday he did a short road job and loved it! He will be leaving with Dave tomorrow-Sunday. They are off to Dallas to a Brian Tracy event. I hope it will give him a chance to rest up and heal even more!
The cabin over the weekend was fun!... We enjoyed a lovely Mothers Day with perfect weather! The beautiful weather just happened to be sandwiched in between the many rainy days we have been having and we enjoyed this sunny day to the fullest!!
I love being a mom!! It's truly the best thing ever!! Justin was home over the weekend so he wasn't with me on Mother's Day. (which is a first but the first of many I'm sure) I came home to flowers and a card on my counter from him and it totally made my whole day! Thank You Justin!!
Jordan was so sick on Mother's Day!! He spent the whole day in bed and threw up even his drinks! I was worried since he was so pale and he like really never gets sick since he is on his immune therapy! He napped a lot, slept on the drive home and when we got home he was hungry so we did bone broth, a hot bath, an oil rub and then to bed. He felt all better by morning so I'm not sure what he had!?
The kids enjoyed time with friends and cousins at the cabin. The food was of course amazing as it is when we go to the cabin (we eat more off the routine and we enjoy it tons!...:}) We love the trails and we did get out each day for a run...
| Cheesecake from the Nissley Residents! So yummy!! |
| Chloe and Jenika are great friends! |
Matt and Liz joined us and Jonathan's again this year. The children have a blast together! The new cabin basement was perfect for the kids on the rainy days! The big wide open outdoors was awesome for the one LOVELY day!
I can hardly get enough of this precious new baby girl!...
She is such a good baby!! Kath is a great momma and her kiddos are so blessed to be cared for so well! I spent some time yesterday snuggling baby, doing some housework and bottling her kombucha! It was great to be there!
Her hospital picture!
Aw yea Jordan keeps us stepping!! I got a call from school the other day... Ball sliced lip! Might need stitched!...
It was a last minute P.E that the students were not aware of so he didn't have his own glove for baseball. He used a smaller one and the ball came at him which he tried to catch but it hit his glove and bounced off to hit his lip. Urgent Care said no stitches but here have these antibiotics so it not get infected. Seriously!? No thank you! Frankincense is being dabbed on it every few hours and we hope it will heal up without a scar!
The mulching is done! The flowers are planted! The garden is mostly planted and sprouting beautifully despite the lack of sunshine.
I'm excited to see the stuff grow now!
Papa's are building a new house! Dave and Rose will be coming home in July and will be moving into Papa's house they live in now! Exciting things going on!
I'm off to catch up... I must remember to "Breathe" through the month of May!!
We are so so BLESSED!!
