We see the signs of the season of spring all around us!
When this hot air balloon came floating our way Jordan, Jenika and Javon took off real fast on the golf cart to watch it land in the neighbors field! I just grinned from the front door as I watched them take off... I silently again thanked the Lord for the fresh feeling that comes with this season of spring!
Dave is still away... I hear from him everyday this year as he enjoys his Summit at Sea trip. He calls me through wifi calling. AT&T made this service available lately and we used it in Belize this year to. It is super nice to stay in contact as usual!
Most mornings my phone rings and we chat a bit... say "I love you" and off we both go again. We live totally separate lives much to often yet still we stay in tune with each others at the same time...:) He hears all about my part (every detail) but most days I feel like I only get a tiny smidge of his part. I know its a guy thing. Plus his part has my head spinning and in overload in no time with all he has going on so its probably good I don't get every tiny detail...:)
This is where he is busy getting more education this week... He also had some stage time on this years Summit! He was happy to be on a panel discussion with Ken McElroy.
We miss him here.
When he is gone I have no one to stop me from working all day and all night! This is the time of year that I have no stopper unless someone like him is here to tell me it can wait until tomorrow!
The flowerbeds all got an edge trim. This is a ton of work as I edge all by hand and haul the dirt off to a pile. It is just the best way I find that keeps the edge nice all summer. It feels great to have this hard task complete every spring. (now we just maintain the edge with the trimmer all summer) The garden is planted. Corn and all. I only need to put the tomatoes, watermelons and a few other weather sensitive things in yet.
Flowers. I LOVE tons of them! Lots of them are now planted as off this week! Geraniums and petunias do well here and they like to be planted early so they have been popped into the ground. We cannot wait to see the color pop!!
The fish pond pumps get started next week and this is another signature sign that spring is here! The water sounds outside my window open the mind along with all the blooms! We are thankful to have a faithful pond guy that shows up to clean and start the pond pumps every spring! Paul has been coming every spring since we live here and he expects to hear from me as soon as the warmer weather comes..:)
The routine is whatever for me when Dave is away to! I work until late and all the sudden its time to do the bedtime routine and I haven't shut down yet! I realize I skipped supper and snack in bed after the house is quite... This was my snack the other night in bed..:)
I watch a movie or read way to late. Things go smooth when husband and dad are away most times but things are still different and we can never wait until he is back home again!
Justin's ball practice have started up for the season. He and Jordan hit lots of balls now that the weather is warm.
Fishing season is here... Jordan just LOVES the first day of fishing season every year!! They have a sleepover over close to Smoky and Kath's creek and fish all day Saturday! My cousins live over that way and I love that Jordan enjoys hanging out with my cousins children! He and Mark are two of a kind and then they mix well with these friends...:)
We now have fish in the freezer to do a fish fry when Dave gets back!
The juicer goes most every morning here these days... Javon is my faithful early morning juicer pretty often...:)
The school kiddos are working hard on achievement tests this week. It feels great to be in the last quarter of the school term! The school activities hit a whole level of busy once May rolls around. I already see some of the evidence as the calendar fills up with field trips and other last quarter activities!
We took the back porch back from the birds and we are eating on the porch again! This is only the beginning of warm weather porch fun!
This week I made a trip up to Hershey medical center with another friend to visit Darlene and her little guy... Darlene is a great friend of mine that I have enjoyed ever since we were youth. We went to Spring Garden church together for many years after our youth.
This week life changed for them FOREVER. Elijah is her adorable four year old. She has three boys and three girls and her and her family are outstanding. Just that kind of mom that you admire. She is such a great mom!!
They were helping friends move on Saturday. Darlene had just pulled her suburban up and unloaded a load of goods. When she was done she went to pull her suburban forward out of the way to make room for the next vehicle with another load of goods. As she went to pull forward she noticed her passenger door hung open. She got out, walked around to close that door. When she came back to her driver seat she came the other way around the suburban. No child was close that she saw. When she pulled up she heard a desperate cry/scream. She hollered out her window to her daughter on the porch... "Where is Elijah!?" Her daughter when hysterical and told her she is on him and she has to move back!! Move back!! Move back!! Darlene panicked and did not want to move without knowing where Elijah was!! She parked, got out and saw him under her front drivers side tire!! She was parked on his chest!!
The horror!! She does not remember doing it but she ran back and backed up her suburban. She ran to her son and picked him up and screamed for all she had!! She hung onto every breath!! She said his little body started to curl itself up as soon as she held him. He had slow shallow breaths. The emergency crew had to forcefully take him from this momma's arms!!
Lets just say it is nothing but a pure miracle that Elijah is going to be fine! He has a pulled collar bone, and a slightly fractured pelvis that will not require surgery!
He was on the breathing machine because of bruised lungs but he is off and doing better. He is still at up in Hershey. His momma has been dealing with so many emotions she can hardly keep up!! Why does Elijah live after the suburban was on top of him when the next child does not make it home again!?
Here is this miracle child... Elijah God has big plans for you!! You are loved so well and your family is forever grateful you are still here!!
Please join in prayer as this family will have much healing to walk through! Elijah seems to remember some of this dramatic experience!
I cannot imagine how this will affect this family! We love you Lee and Darlene and kiddos!!
