This sunny beautiful Saturday finds me pool side with sun kissed skin. (to much sun kissed for a northerner that has not yet adapted to a hot summer sun!)
We are spending a few days in the very tip of Florida... Key West
Dave is speaking here at a "High Speed Alliance" conference. He always invites me to travel with him and with all things going on at home my answer is most times a "no". I'm being more intentional about saying "Yes" more often and this time I said "yes if we can bring the two youngest with us"...:)
Here we are and we are enjoying this time away very much. It can be a really busy time at home in spring time! Everything outdoors screams for attention coming out of a long cold Lancaster County winter but here today none of it really matters...:)
Dave speaks and does his presentation so well! I love to watch how his personality fits so well with what he does!
He educates himself and those around him everywhere he goes! Here he is in the pool getting to know some HSA members better...:)
We are sleeping long after Dave gets up and we are really not doing to much at all.
But Dave is busy...
He has many many friends!
Many of these folks are in the dental space... Dave got a new smile because of friends from this group... Very cheap compared to the norm!
Last week Javon got an abscess! It was a molar tooth connected to his retainer and we thought the pain was connected to the retainer and by the time we realized it was decay our family dentist was questioning if he could save the tooth! Back in January it was filled and last week the pain came back!
I was leaving for Texas with my friends and Javon was in pain on antibiotics with plans to remove the tooth this week.
Dave tapped into his network of dental friends once again! Last Friday morning with me in Texas Dave took Javon to see Dr Eric Shelly who was in retirement but for Javon he came back to his prior office to do a root canal! He did not charge a dime! Javon is grateful to not be in pain anymore!
He was so brave! This poor guy has had so much tooth drama already! And his x-ray shows he will have more in the future...
We love our dental friends and are so thankful for there insight!
The sun here is hot and intense today!
Jen and Javon are being real independent and just kind of go off on there own. They would sleep until noon here if I wouldn't just wake them...:) I went out of the room to listen to Dave's part of the conference this morning and when I got back they were still sound asleep! Its so much fun having them with us this time!
Our lovely breakfast spot today...
We are here until tomorrow and tomorrow is a free day for Dave.
Justin is the only one at home this weekend... He is occupied and so busy in this stage of his life! Football, baseball, business is busy, his house on Airbnb and of course his girl... These two are so fun together... They laugh so much!
Jordan is in Missouri with his favorite group of friends! They are turkey hunting most of this week!
This is how Jordan is finishing up his senior year of school... At home online between his work schedule! He still loves and interacts with his school friends and I know the day they graduate will bring emotions to Jordan! He has had a wonderful experience and made life long friends at Linville Hill! He now owns and operates JLZ Trucking and he is thriving!
Last weekend we celebrated Lori turning 40!
It was a trip to Waco Texas!
Time with these ladies is always great! We laugh until we cry and then we have the serious moments to. We talk about life, motherhood and marriage and where we will travel together next...:)
Waco Texas was about all things "Magnolia"!
I am for sure the least into the whole "Fixer Upper and Chip and Joanna Gains" out of all of us. I felt real uneducated since I never followed there show or read up on them at all.
My girlfriends tried to fill me in along the way but the real reason for my participation was really just to be with them...:) I'm so glad I didn't miss out even if I didn't feel all booked up on the whole Magnolia thing...:)
Texas is normally warm, dry and sunny! This weekend we chose was off a bit. We had chilly, rainy weather most of the time. The whole experience would have felt different if the weather had been nice but we still had a great time!
Mart booked the flights, got us a cute Airbnb and had our rental van ready for pick up! She did a great job!
Here are a few of our pictures of the Magnolia experience...
Happy Birthday Lori!!
I'm off to enjoy a bit more time reading, relaxing here in Key West... The time here feels healing to my soul!
