Grandpa Dienner finally met his best friend Jesus and we couldn't be more happy for him. It was a long few years for Daudy D as he anticipated heaven with Jesus more and more every day. Jesus was his "Best Friend" and he verbally said so often. He went about his last years Blessing others. He would hold your hand and say "I Bless You".
What a dear man of God he was. He had nothing but a grateful heart. He said weird things sometimes and you had to wonder if he is going "coo-coo" at times but he was so funny and so loving!
I have so many great childhood memories of this man. He always took care of his family so well. He was emotional and he passed these emotions off to many of us...:)
As a child we remember Daudy D stopping in for our mowers a few times a year. He would load them up and take them back to his shop where he sharpened the blades and changed the oil. He loved to tinker around in his shop fixing things! He was very organized and all his screws and nails were lined up in old coffee tins in his garage...:)
We will all miss him.
These days are bittersweet as we lay him to rest. He will be missed yet we are all so happy that he is finally in his real forever home.
He hadn't ate or drank anything since Sunday and he passed yesterday morning. (Thursday morning around 2:00am.) He had no pain in his last years, days or hours and he never complained. Always thankful for the smallest things like a glass of water or his favorite drink of all time "meadow tea".
We met as a family last night at Daudy D's. His body was there for the evening. Today the veiwing hours are from 2-4 and 6-8. At Spring Garden Church. Tomorrow the funeral is at ten o'clock at Spring Garden as well with a veiwing before this.
The days are to hit near 100 degrees with dangerous heat index! Things are feeling very dry. We are so thankful for air condition in our home and of course during the viewing and funeral as well!!
We are so thankful that God shared this man with us for this long... It's because of him that I became...:) His legacy will live on. I'm so thankful to love and know each one of my uncles, aunts and cousins personally on this side of the family.
We were always an active family... doing many things together! For many years we celebrated Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and a big summer vacation to! Plus Daudy D's had the big in ground pool so we spent countless summer days there! The memories are endless and oh so much fun to think back on! Rest in Peace Daudy D... We will meet you on your side very soon! Love You!
Here is my dad and Daudy D on Fathers Day in 2014.
The day is already sweltering HOT!! I hope to do all the yard work before the viewing today. Maybe I'll have to fall into the pool now and then to keep cool...:)
Dave had a birthday yesterday!! We did a special supper and gave him a gift before we went to Daudy D's last night.
Daudy D died on Dave's birthday and he will be buried on my Dad's 60th birthday.
Stay Cool today... Please remember the Dienner family in prayer.
