Saturday Post...

Today is Saturday and we always love a Saturday!! It Is SNOWING!!!

Winter is here and we go from freezing cold plunging temps to almost 60 degrees in a day! It is the warm days that come now and then that make the cold ones bearable...:) When the warm days come we quick take advantage and fill up the bird feeders, blow out the garage and burn the trash.

The pond was fit for skating a few evenings this week and Jenika and Jordan went to enjoy that with neighbor kids. Dave went to pick them up at the pond later and they were not ready yet to come home. I told Dave to bring Jenika home anyway because of school the next day... She tried to argue her way out of like this... "But Dad please!! NO!! Not Yet!! I'm having so much fun with my best friend!!!" Dave says... Is this your best friend?? (as he points to the girl next to her)  Jenika... "Yes!" Dave... Aw what is her name? Jenika looks at the girl next to her and leans over and quietly says "What is your name though?" So Jenika!! She makes friends everywhere she goes in no time at all!...:) And no her daddy did not give in and she came home in tears because it is not everyday that the pond is fit for skating!

Javon was not back in school this week until Wednesday after he battled with a stomach bug for two days. He was so very sick and miserable. We are so glad he is back to himself again and that none of the rest of us got this nasty bug! His immune system struggles more in the winter months. Belize was starting to sound so inviting when he was sick!

Winter is not my season at all but as long as we are healthy and the sun shines now and then we can actually enjoy the slower pace of it... It can be the longest of seasons but for sure when health struggles and the gray days are endless! We love where we live but when friends in Florida and Arizona are begging us to come for a visit its at this time of the year that it sounds the most inviting!...:) Maybe we will slip off one of these cold weekends to see you in Arizona Eric and Cindy!!...:)

Jordan has been busy with school science fair, basketball and his steel plate business...:) Mark is here today helping him fill a plate order. He puts the bend in the flat steel plate with his plate machine and then they get shipped to DC to get a galvanized seal then shipped back here for him to pack into boxes and ship off to a wholesale warehouse. Its a process but the whole plate thing has been such a good learning experience for Jordan! He hires the Little's and they have a nice cash stash that they are saving for Belize. Most likely it will get spent at the Rum & Bean or the ice cream shop...:)

We are enjoying the juicer these days... I want to start to post some of our favorite juice recipes on here in case you want to try juicing for yourself. I know many of us go into the new year with health goals and I'd love to know how this is going for some of you...  I have been educating myself on "Inflammation" and how it affects the body and I am processing a future post on "Inflammation" and how the foods we eat have an impact on it. Food is medicine and as you know by now food is my thing so if you follow me for food reason keep watch for this post soon...:)

I'm off to enjoy the falling snow on this lovely Saturday at home!! Eva is spending the weekend here in her room again since Smoky and Kath are on a getaway this weekend... Maybe I didn't even share that Eva Jane has moved in with my sister Kath and her family! Justin loves having her closer to home and she is adjusting well to the change... Who wouldn't love living with Kath and her adorable kiddos!??...:)
