Its Buck Season!!

Thankgiving week was a time of reflecting on our many many blessings!

We LOVE the school breaks and it feels great to stick the lunches and back packs away for more then just a regular two day weekend! We are so blessed with a great school and it is on one of our tops "Thankful For" on the list but when that break comes around we soak up every minute!..:)

We hosted Thanksgiving here for my family this year. Mom does the wonderful whipped up potatoes whole I did the filling and turkey. Kath and Marilyn brought sides to so the whole process was pretty simple and we all enjoyed the whole day together!

It was a beuatiful day to so the sighting in of the guns and the outdoor time with the golf carts was so pleasant!

The day after Thanksgiving day we always head up to the cabin for a full four days of action packed outdoor adventures!

This year opening day of rifle season found me in a tree stand by myself. I like to be out in the action!

The first morning I get up earlyu with the hunters. There are about as many girl hunters as boy hunters on our cabin property by now!...:)

Its great!

I had action but by the time the deer got to me the bucks were gone. I love to watch them more then shoot them anyway so it was a good time even if I didn't see any bucks on my morning hunt.

Dave was out most of the day Monday and after I did some packing up (I came home Monday evening with the two youngest because of school) I walked a few miles and crept up to where Dave was sitting. I sat with him for the last few hours of daylight hunting time. We had action. We saw some small bucks real close but none were shooters so we headed back to camp at dark and had a great meal before Mariyn and I headed home with the school kiddos.

We shot four bucks off the propery this year...

Tina... Her nine point. She is a pro by now and dropped him on the spot!

Hannah's 6 point...! She is tiny but she dropped him on the spot!...:)

Peter got this pretty 9 point out of a brand new stand they set up on Saturday!

This 6 point belongs to Richie Lapp...:) We have come to enjoy his fun personality at the cabin and he adds to the action in a real fun way! Just hearing him laugh has the whole cabin in a giggle..:)

We are back home and the bags are unpacked once again. We are enjoying Christmas music and getting out more decorations...:)

Justin had a surgery yesterday afternoon so he and I were out for that for about five hours yesterday. A cyst that is pretty comin to those that do a lot of driving. He is being a champ even though the process required close to twenty stitches! He will be off work for awhile but he is up and in good spirts

He is home for meals and I will enjoy not packing his huge lunch the next week or so!...:)

As we round the corner towards Christmas I'm choosing to be intentional about taking it all in and slowing down...:) Most of the shopping is being done online and the boxes have been arriving almost daily here for the last few days!

Mom and my sisters and I have decided we will take a day a week to do something out of the ordinary so I hope to make record of all we see and do on here..:)

The hunters return to the cabin for a few days but the school kiddos and I will stay put and work on Christmas festives..:) We also plan to host 60 youth here this weekend so it will a time of being in the kitchen to!

I'm off to the school gym to walk through the vendor sale going on today... It's so much fun to take it all in this time of the year!!

Have a great day and enjoy this lovely sunny day!!
