A "Get Away" + Antibodies

We had a short "get away" at the cabin this week end... This is the place we have been enjoying for the past fourteen years...

This cabin is going on the market! We are sad to leave this place and all the memories we have here but we have some more property about ten minutes away from this cabin where the guys have been enjoying the hunting grounds a bit better. We are moving over to that property into a new cabin soon. We are so excited to have a bit more space for the whole Zook family vacations in the summer!

We had a great time with some family and also John Ervin and Anna Ruth the past few days...
It was so relaxing and we really didn't do much of anything other then enjoy each other and the nature around us!

Dave took Jordan out turkey hunting Saturday morning, they saw lots of deer but only a few turkeys that saw them and were out of there before they could get a shot. Justin went out with uncle Matthew and they didn't have any luck either.

I went for a two mile run with Justin's dog! It was fine but she got kind of slow,  I finally just turned around with her and came back to the cabin. She enjoyed the get away with us. She came in the van with us!! She is in the garage now though by the way!! Since Rachel Ann was here on Friday for cleaning day we both came to the conclusion that this big slobbery dog with her stinky chew toys was never going to go over well inside the house! Sorry to my guys, I really was going to try to be brave here! She is in the garage for now but I hope to push her out of there into the cozy dog box Justin is working on building her out at the shop! Poor dog has manners and she can't help she slobbers but I just can't deal with the smell in the house or even the closed garage!

Many of the cabin crew enjoyed the clay bird shooting time! The guns were just firing away!!

The weather was warm and sunny most of the time and my Jenika did not wear a single pair of the socks that I had packed for her! This is a great sign to me!! Bare feet mean summer days ahead!

These two gals are the best of friends!! They have a minute or two here and there where they have a squabble but for the most part they are best buds and where one is you will also find the other!...

Sweet and adorable Bryant!

Javon loved all the outdoor fun! I hardly even see him and he just goes on off with his friends! Dave and I did a run/walk this morning over on the farm property. It was about five miles of breathtaking beauty as the trees are budding and some of them are the lovely purple color right now! It was trails through rolling hills and valleys with woods in between. God is so creative and a few times I just had to stop and look around at the beauty of it all!

The trail running is more Dave's style and my footing is never as good as his, I'm even slower then out on the road. The scenery was just to lovely to be watching every step at my feet with him running out ahead, so we mostly walked and talked the whole time which was much more enjoyable...:) We got back to the cabin and our kiddos didn't even seem to know that we were missing for the last two hours!...:)

Javon and Hannah...

Jordan had an antibody treatment on Thursday. It seemed his allergies were worse and they were already much better over the week end now! He had my mom to sit with him for a few hours during IV, which was so nice because I was so busy doing all the outside work before heading to the cabin on Friday. He is also always so glad for his grandma on these antibody days!

This evening he is tired and has a headache. He has some looser bowels then we like which tells me his body was not appreciating all the extra food that we were introducing and more sugar then normal to. His nose was bleeding a bit to. He is an easy bruiser to so he has a huge bruise on his shoulder from the gun he was shooting during the clay bird shoot out! He told me it was so worth it though since he had a blast watching those clay birds shatter in the sky as he shot them!...:)

Justin is enjoying his dog. He took great care of her up at the cabin. She slept inside in her kennel thingy but other then that she was mostly outdoors. He really enjoys his uncle Mark Andrew and these two even shared a room...:)

It was a great get away but now the week ahead looks so busy I almost cringe... Oh well so it goes in May!! School sure has a way of going out like a lion every year! The school activities make a really busy month of May plus all the fun outdoor work that comes along with this month to! My garden is spouting nicely but it really needs to warm up some more! We are bound to have a really short summer if the temps don't get warm and stay warm soon!...

Have a great week ahead... Be a blessing to those around you...
