Our Easter Week-End...

Easter is always a special time for the Christian! Jesus has done more for us then we could ever grasp and its often on this Easter weekend that we really reflect on what he has really done for us so that we could live forever with him! He really went through so much suffering for you and me!! Let us PRAISE him everyday for as many days as he has numbered for us! It really is just for a short time. I'm realizing this more the older that I get.

We have been enjoying the warmer temps these days. It felt great to get some yard work done over our long weekend! It felt like we had two Saturdays last week since we took Good Friday morning off to reflect on the death of our Lord and Savior. We then enjoyed a late breakfast for lunch as a family before we went outdoors for the rest of the afternoon...:)

Dave is a great help to me around the property always but especially in the Springtime! I could never care for this big place without him! He rented an edger and got all my edges done and ready for mulch. He then planted lots of different kinds of berry bushes and a few apple trees to! I love how he gets down and dirty around here and just gets er done!

I have him for a bit yet but once he can fly his airplane (when the winds die) I will see less of him and his help because he is in the sky more... It's either flying or pulling weeds for his stress reliever and he would choose flying over weed pulling any day...:) He is anxious to get his parachute plane out again one of these days! For now I put him to work and just love his man power!

My garden looks enormous but I can't wait to fill it up!! We have six more blueberry bushes we want to plant yet. They will go next to the strawberry patch and then get a cage around them so we can have some blueberries for ourselves and not just to feed the birds...:) Our berry bushes that are a few years old are looking great and the yield is more and more every year but once the birds find them its all over for us! I just kind of put them down as a border for the garden and didn't care that much if the birds found the berries but now that I see how nice they are it really does spite me to feed them all to the birds!

All this spring stuff is fun and it feels like a fresh start for everything around here on our property. The fresh paint and some new flooring indoors is making the whole place feel like its getting a whole new fresh start.

Not being here over the winter has us looking at our home and property that God has blessed us with through new eyes. We really don't take it for granted that we have wide open space where we can "play" in the dirt! It is something that many around us do in our area but I appreciate more then ever right now!

I can't wait to plant some annuals and plant that garden! I tend to rush it then my stuff gets to cold so I decided to simply be more patient this year. (I probably said that last year!) I just have a hard time staying out of the gardens when the weather gets warm... but... so often it gets cold on my stuff and I have to replant some of it. Then I kick myself for not being patient...:)

The weeds are pulled and the beds are ready for mulch but we will wait a bit yet for this to. That way it will look more fresh when the flowers are ready to burst with color. Until then we try to control the garlic in the beds and all other weeds!

Javon had an adorable buddy for a sleepover a few nights ago! He was thrilled when Dave and I came home from a viewing the other evening with Austin! We stopped and picked him up at Kath's and he spent the night and all the next day here with Javon! They had a BLAST!! Austin was thrilled to spend the night at Aunt Suz's house and sleep with Javon!! We had so much fun loving on him!

The day was a beauty and they spent most of the day outdoors!

We attended the funeral of an elderly lady from church on Saturday. Verna Belier was a great woman who always had a smile for everyone around her! She was so fun to be around and such an inspiration to me. She will be so missed by her children and grandchildren! She passed away suddenly of heart failure. Her daughter told me that she was my secret sister in church. This was special since I received a nice gift from her before we left for Belize and I still have it and will remember her when I see the basket that she gave to me. I will no longer receive those secret gifts from her. She has much better things going on now! Please join in prayer for the Belier family over the days and years ahead! Verna was the rock of the family and they will need our prayers as they move forward in this life without her!

We enjoyed church with the Honey Brook church yesterday. We were invited to John and Suz for host and it was a great time! Thanks for the invitation guys!

The kitchen is the place for me again today. I just find myself here when I don't have to many other demanding things on my schedule. With growing boys I could find things to do in the kitchen every hour of every day! I'm so thankful that I enjoy kitchen work or my hours and days might be long trying to keep up with the demands of these hungry boys!..:)

It's blueberry muffins that are making the house smell great right now. I assembled a big breakfast casserole that we want to drop off at the Daniel Marcus family this evening. Daniel Marcus is Jordan's age and he is a distant relative in Dave's moms Fisher family. He deals with the same thing that Jordan does. Infusions. No natural immune system. They get the same medication in the same form. IVIG. It's what it is called. Its a bummer to deal with but we have been so thankful for the medication.

I keep in touch with Daniel Marcus's mom some but it has been awhile since I have seen them. Daniel Marcus was in Hershey hospital a very sick boy the last time I heard so I'm not even sure if we will find them at home but they have been heavy on my mind. Daniel Marcus was always a little worse then Jordan health wise. We appreciate everyday that Jordan is healthy!

The other night I was finishing up in the kitchen for the night when I heard some terrible ruckus in the garage!! Jordan had went out to put Sasha in for the night. He must have had to fetch her at Jonathan's. He drives Dave's truck like a pro around here and this is what he took to go after Sasha. He had his foot slip or something and he came crashing into my wash tub in the garage!! I was scared to open the door to look what happened!! This is what I found!... Jordan learned a lesson here for sure! I was so glad nobody was hurt! Dave has a new dent in his truck! Oh my... Life with boys!

The creek is the place where the kids hangout with cousins these days! I forgot how the shoes and clothes used to get so dirty when they came home from Fairhaven School! They would stop and play in the creek! Now the school clothes stay clean and I really don't miss those creek days after all. After I picked a tick off Javon's head I almost say no more playing at the creek!!

Dave thinks I'm depriving them if I keep them from it so we slather them with coconut oil for poison ivy and spray them with a vinegar and oil mixture for the ticks. I hope it works!

I'm off... Have a BLESSED spring day!!
