Jordan's tree stand story to go with the last post... From last weekend at the cabin... We are thankful he didn't fall!
Jordan's tree stand in the woods... "he sat beside me and told me the story as it happened and I typed away...:)"
Jordan and Ashley hunted together on Saturday morning. We have double ladder stands all around the cabin property. They both went up into one to hunt and when they came to be done hunting and they went to get out of the tree stand they had issues...
Ashley got out first... She went to go down the ladder and it gave away after about the third step... The ladder bent in against the tree and she jerked forward and pinched her thumb but was able to maneuver her way to the bottom. Jordan was still at the top but when the ladder went backwards this made the whole tree stand jerk forward. Ashley's bow fell to the ground when the ladder gave away. Thankfully it didn't hit her on the way down!
Jordan was pinned between the steel bar around the stand and the seat, his bow was hanging by the string of his grunt call! He reached over for his bow and dropped it down to Ashley. She caught it at the bottom! Okay so he needed to get unpinned and get down somehow because the tree stand was unsteady and shaking at this point.
He lifted the bar up and felt himself fall forward... He was thinking okay "I'm going to fall"! And as he fell he was suddenly jerked to a stop in midair and hung by his hunting rope that somehow came out of nowhere and was wrapped around his upper leg! Then he just hung there and he was like "Okay, what caught me!?" He was trying to figure out what caught him and Ashley was at the bottom asking him "What are you hanging by!?
Then he reached up and grabbed the bar and pulled up his leg so he could free it from the rope. Then he pulled himself up and went to free his tightened rope and when he pulled on it it just came loose like it was never even caught anywhere! He still has no idea where the rope was caught to hold his weight!?
Then he told Ashley "When I count to three, push on the bottom of the ladder to straighten it out the best she could, so he could climb down. He made it to the bottom thankful to not have fallen twenty five feet to the ground! Briers were at the bottom... He was thankful to not fall into those! There was a tree stump there to! It could have been bad but he had guardian Angels and we are thankful!
I went to pick them up with the truck and they were pretty shook up as they told the story!
It will be something Jordan learns from and remembers for years to come!...

Election thoughts...
The election is over. It feels nice to have it fall into our favor unlike eight years ago. I still remember where I was sitting when President Obama won the presidential race. It was more scary then I ever remember any other election of my day. Maybe it was because I was older and we had little children whom we wanted only the best for.
I know God has his hand on an elected President and I have no doubt that God has his hand in this 2016 outcome big time! This election was huge for the freedoms that we cherish and as many came out to vote it was made clear that we still have many great people in this country that have some core values that they don't want to loose for our future generations.
God's people prayed hard about this outcome and he heard the cry of his people... The Trump victory seems to have been a divine intervention since it seems to have come as a shock to the world.
Some notes that I took to remember this historic election of 2016!...
Election eve 2016 began without any real sign of a gathering storm. No hint a popular revolt was brewing. In fact just the opposite.
The networks were reporting a mood in the inner circle of the Republican candidate was somber, tense - as if fearing the worst.
In direct contrast, the mood in the camp of the Democratic Party was described as confident, expectant and already almost celebratory. Giddy.
When the first polls closed on the East Coast and the first results began to come in, these moods seemed to be swiftly confirmed by reality. The pre-election polls were not wrong. Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton immediately took the lead.
And she was winning in the battleground states.
She was leading in Florida. She was leading in North Carolina. She was leading in Pennsylvania. She was leading in Ohio. Clinton was threatening to pull away and end the suspense early.
No sign of breakage by 8:00PM. Something would have to change.
It did.
God's people prayed all around the world.
Simple acts of faith heralded a first faint wisps of a breeze that would soon become a storm that would shake the world.
Jerusalem.... Christians from many nations gathered in the heart of Israel to pray for our nation. Americans knelt as the faithful prayed.
As they prayed something began to stir... The race broke in favor of Trump. Someone was listening to those prayers no doubt. More believers came out to vote then ever before .
This shows the necessity of believers voting for biblical principles in the voting booth. We have a voice. We have freedom to help swing the vote.
Despite the victory the work has only begun for the faithful. As well as the new President Trump.
This is not the time for the believer to celebrate and turn away from doing our part affecting our society with the salt and the light found in the Bible. "It's an opportunity to share the gospel and educate people of the foundation of western civilization: the Bible."
Trumps victory might indeed be seen, even by the skeptical, as less the work of man, and more of an act of God.
Some notes from Max Lucado...
The days after the election will be more days in God's perfect sovereignty. He will still be in charge. His throne will still be occupied. He will still manage the affairs of the world. Never before has his providence depended on a king, president or ruler. And it won't the days after the election is over either. (Proverbs 21:1... The LORD can control a king's mind as he controls a river; he can direct it as he pleases) (Psalms 22:28... The kingdom is the Lord's and he who rules over the nations)
Understanding God's sovereignty over the nations opens the door to peace. When we realize that God influences the hearts of all rulers, we can then choose to pray for them rather then fret about them. Rather then wring our hands we bend our knees, we select prayer over despair.
Dare to believe that God is speaking to us when he says " In everything God works for the good of those who love him" (Romans 8:28)
Our God rules the world!
Lets pray earnestly and faithfully for the new Presidents and the many decisions that need to be made in the days ahead. Pray also for the opposite party because they are in shock and most likely scared of losing things that they also hold on to. It looks scary with the news recording riots in the streets as protesters march around throwing big temper tantrums. It really is sad to see so many sorry folks doing that thinking they are helping somebody.
"Lord help our nation to turn towards so you can heal our land that we love"
My love for quotes shows...:) I save tons and I love to share the ones that speak to me!...

| :) I'll pull up this one the next time my adventurous husband wants to get me out of my box...:) |
We have our plane tickets for Belize. We are excited to visit the island again, yet at the same time it feels like it will come and go to fast and we will never be packed and ready to go when the time comes! The holiday season is filling up the calendar really fast and in order to keep it all together it will take extra deep breathing...:) We love Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons even if it means stepping up life's pace a bit more....:)
The plans are to keep our Belize trip much shorter this winter. (a bit shy of three weeks) We kept it to two weekends away for Justin's sake. He is reluctant to go at all but we really cannot see ourselves doing this trip without him so he is being cool about it. Leaving Eva is his biggest drawback but we can't bring her this year and I told her we will take good care of him...:) We also hope the school kiddos will not have such a huge adjustment since they won't miss so much classroom time.
Dave is packing tight the days that we will be there to try to get in as much as possible in the short time that we are in Belize. Investors are meeting us there and some familiar faces are coming to vacation on the weeks we are there so we can be there at the same time. Dave has so many friends with Belize interests and many want to visit now that things are coming along better and the resort opening date is just around the corner.
We are excited to see the project progress from the ground there. The retail stores have taken off in the village of Mahogany Bay and the pool is supposedly to be done in December sometime.
Alley will be meeting us there in Belize. She will do school with the kids. She will be staying there at Mahogany Bay in her own unit, we are excited about this! I hope that the kids can go do school at her house so we can keep things more normal at our house for the rest of us and the ones not doing school at the moment. Last year we either had to get out or stay really quiet so the student doing school could concentrate. (Alley is Steve and Jill's oldest daughter... if you remember we got to know them well last winter. We love Steve and Jill's family and we will miss them in Belize this time! Alley is graduating in education in December so she is super excited to be teaching the kids and putting her graduation to good use so soon)
It looks a bit big but prayers and one day at a time will get us there. We are excited for family life in Belize! Its the best there where life's pace is so much slower then here...:) We always appreciate little things here at home a bit more (that we take for granted daily) when we leave the country and come back... so its good for us to go now and then...:) We are just more grateful for the simple things when we come home.
If you can take a minute to pray for this sweet baby today please do so... Baby Cayson belongs to Dave's brother Peter and his wife Roxy. He was born with something called scaphocephaly. It has to do with the shape of his head and not having proper soft spots. His skull was closed at the top where a normal head is gaped a bit underneath at the top so it can grow and form properly.
He is so sweet and such a good baby for Roxy! This is breaking her heart so pray extra for her to!!
| Talking to daddy just before surgery... He has no idea what is about to happen... |
He will be coming home tomorrow and will need some type of helmet for about a year to reshape his head. He will have to wear it twenty three hours a day! Pray for this dear family with us as they do what is best for the future of Cayson!! We love you guys!!
Today is cleaning day, piles of laundry day, lunch duty with Javon's second grade class... I love doing this lunch duty...:) Yard need mowed yet and Jordan wants to go to Walmart after school to get stuff for his evening tomorrow... He is having his whole class here for campfire, supper, games, and tons of action packed eighth grade fun! The girls leave after the evening party, the guys spend the night and will leave Saturday morning... Could get loud and interesting to say the least...:)
Take time to enjoy the beauty of this day and all those big/little things that come with the busy month of November!
