We are at the cabin... It is always a fun getaway to come up here!
Jordan has his school friend Matthew up here to. Turkey season it is. The morning hunt got interrupted by thunderstorms. The guys didn't have to much turkey luck.
Food is always great up here at the cabin. Trails are great for running and walking although this mornings thunderstorms kept me inside more then happy to snuggle under the blankets instead of running!
The rains and warmer temps have the garden at home sprouting everything! By the time we get back home I'm thinking we will be back to eating full blown salads out of the garden! The greens are being picked everyday. The radish, carrots, peas and onions will be ready real soon!
Rhubarb is something new for me and I still need to figure out how to use it more. The strawberry patch has grown huge and we can't wait until the big white flowers become big juicy strawberries!
I planted a fig tree! Dave has bad childhood memories of fig bars and he is making one out of me for planting a fig tree but it will be great if this thing ever gives me figs! I told him I'm making fig goodies and he will be the first to try them!...:)
Grandma Beiler has gone on with Jesus and she had no more need for her things. They were all sold over auction last week... It was a bittersweet day as many memories surfaced after seeing all of grandmas things.
She kept her stuff in very good shape. She puts me to shame. Her kitchen wear was still in great condition after many many years of use! She had books and diaries that dated back into the 1800's!
I was blessed to bring home some of mommy Beilers treasures. I got some baskets, some dishes and wine glasses. I got an old hand saw that Javon has been using in the tree line ever since! I'm afraid he will chop down to much of our woods soon...:)
It was great to see cousins and other family members biding on and taking home mommy Beilers treasures!
We all miss her very much and more then once you would hear someone say "Oh Mommy would just have a fit if she would be here to see this day!"
