I took a bit of a blogging break.
It feels like we had to much going on this summer not to stay after on here.
We are enjoying our fun busy summer to the fullest!
It feels like an over all chilly, cloudy (with lots of pop up rain showers) type of summer so far with very few full sunny days... but we do get one real nice one now and then.
The rains are keeping everything growing so fast! We are still mowing two times a week and things are staying so nice and green!!
Me... I have been loving it!! Yesterday I was even mowing in a sweatshirt! I love mowing!! I must say though that I get chilly real easy and as soon as I got off the mower to do the edges or other things that required moving around I did shed that sweatshirt real fast, but still... a sweatshirt in July has need to be recorded!...:)
Today was cousins day. It was great to catch up with many of my Belier cousins today. Thanks Kate for hosting us!! I see way to little of them all for not father apart then we live!
Life with cousins is truly a gift! My best childhood memeories were made with cousins! Tonight I watch my own kids as they have all of their cousins on my side ( - Alan and Kirsten) here for a pizza party and sleepover and it makes me realize how blessed we all are to have cousins to do life with!! These are some of their best friends of all!!
We have been wanting to do this sleepover before summer is over and they are all enjoying each other very much as I type! I can tell the way things are going the night is still on the young side for this crew!..:)
I just Love each of my sisters kiddos like my own and its so much fun to watch the connection they have as cousins! These kids will party all night and all day tomorrow as long as "Aunt Suz " can put up with it..;)
Austin just came to me and said "Aunt Suz, I don't think I'm even going to be able to go to sleep becasue I'm having so much fun!!" I just laughed out loud when he walked away!!
Justin has been working out of town the past few days. He enjoys out of town work but it seems long since we have seen him. It didn't help that he didn't have phone service. He is normally real good with calling home when he is out for a few days!
Dave is in Belize. He will be out five days. Syndication Mentoring Club meet up is happening at MBV.
I hope he will be sending me some pictures that I can share on here. Lots of activity is going on down there. The village of Mahogany Bay on the island of Ambergris Caye is really starting to become a reality! It has all been so exciting.
We have pretty much decided we will not be spending time in Belize this upcoming winter. The three school children are stepping into hard grades this upcoming school term and its always rough for them to adjust when we get home. It feels like they just miss so many hands on things that they are then clueless about when we get back home to the classroom. Not saying I won't slip away with Dave on one of his trips if it works out but it just feels like this will be the year to keep the kids in school. Maybe next year we can spend another whole winter there again...since MBV is only in the beginning stages we hope to enjoy more winter time down there in the future.
We spent a weekend with our Belize friends at there home at the beach in Delaware. It was a great time with Steve, Jill and their kids! (Ally, Julia, Blake, Dane and of course Charlie)
We ate well. Enjoyed the beach and the waves a ton!! We did rides on the boardwalk (which is out of Dave and I's comfort zone totally...:}) We got Fishers popcorn and spent way to much money for ice cream cones! (like you do on boardwalks...:))
We ran on the beach. We rode motor scooters. We piled in on Steve and Jill and they were totally cool with sharing their space! Thanks so much guys for hosting us on this really fun getaway!!
The highlight of this beach getaway was watching Dave, Justin, Eva, Jordan, Jenika and Javon all in the water together jumping those wild waves! Jenika clung to Eva... I just love to watch as these two girls slowly connect more and more! Jenika is a lover of ALL people but it took Eva awhile to open up to her. It has been fun to see how sweet Eva is with Jenika...:)
Dave has some pictures of us and Steve and Jill on his phone that I want to add here yet... He is occupied in Belize at the moment with two hours behind our time so his night is most likely still young...:)
The pond here on the property... It now has a water fountain in the center with lights that look lovely at night. The waterfall is lite up now to. The grass around the pond is growing and it has been fun to see this thing take shape... Last week I had Kath's kids for the day and we enjoyed a few hot hours at the pond... (so far I have not gotten in)
I enjoyed Kath's four kids for the whole day but lets just say that my youngest sister is truly my hero these days!! She mothers her kiddos so well and she is adored by each of them so very much! She is beyond busy yet her kids always come first and it shows! They are just the sweetest most lovable children I have ever met! Not to mention they are so very adorable to!!
| As Baby cleaned out my dishwasher I suddenly remembered how my Little's used to do this and it suddenly didn't feel like it was so long ago!...:) |
Jordan is working at the shop. He helps Dave with odd jobs. He also has the job of stripping the used sheds so the crew can fix them up to sell as "used". He goes with Dave to the shop in the morning and on the real hot days he bikes home soon after lunch time.
Because it has been so warm already in the morning Dave and I have taken our runs down along a creek in the shade... It is a beautiful spot for running!! I pick him up at the shop and we drive a hop and skip to this beautiful quite spot...
We run anywheres from 2-5 miles. Depending on what we have going on that particular day. He is faster so he keeps coming back to me so we not get to far out of distance from each other.
These running mornings bring about some real interesting conversation at times! We both like to run with earbuds but when we are next to each other we remove them so we can talk. We take walk breaks sometimes so talking goes better...:) Down here in these woods along the creek the air just feels so clean and getting it deep into the lungs becomes addicting!...:)
The side porch here is such a hot spot this summer!! It's where I have been having breakfast and quiet time all summer long and we have been enjoying is so very much!! It's where the Little's and I do our reading most every morning. The humming birds have become used to us and they come buzzing by real often!
In the morning I head out with these two... Justin is swapping his little car out for a jeep tomorrow and needs a signiture from Dave or I. Since Dave is away I'll be the one that gets to get up early on a Saturday morning to sign my name and hang out with these two love birds...:}
Eva Jane is adjusting to her new job as a receptionest at Dave's Horizon buisness. The Horizon Team loves Eva out there in the office. They say she is catching on wonderfully!
Eva seems to really like her new job and the hours are a dream.
Her home is at Kath's. My sister Kath has a gift that I admire. She is just the real deal if you know what I mean..:) I can't help but feel sad for the family that has been seeing so little of Eva Jane this past year. She adores her siblings and family and she talks highly of them. I know she misses them. She is strong. She is brave. She is a fighter. (which is why she is still here) She is smart and intelligent. My whole family loves on her like she is our very own. (she has melted my dad!) We are thankful that God has lead her our way. We have learned much from having her in our lives. Justin adores her and she adores him even more... It has been fun to watch them grow in many ways this past year! We love you Justin and Eva!!
The whole month of July has been our month to take breakfast to church. Jordan is still awesome in the kitchen so I asked him to make muffins for Sunday morning... He said "can I make something else because my muffins just flop?" I know the feeling so he went for a coffee cake... Here it is warm out of the oven and it waits for the glaze drizzle yet... The house smells amazing!!
Having a kitchen whiz has gotten me so spoiled that I think I can't do any baking on my own anymore! Now that he has a mans job at the shop I see I must do this myself again or train Jenika to do it. I just find myself picking up sweets at Wegman's more and often we don't have much here for dessert. (which my guys don't put up with)
I'm not sure I shared the muffin recipes we like yet but my sister Marilyn introduced us to a few muffin recipes we love! (when they get right) I want to share them with you but right now I must go tuck in eight tired kiddos so I'll try to get to those yummy recipes tomorrow.
I do hope to finish July off with more posts then the rest of the month combined...! Oh wait... I only have a few more days! How does summer really move so fast!?? Oh well either way I hope to be back to blogging more often even if the posts are just short.
The school packet arrived and Jordan and I did some school clothes shopping last night. The Little's spent time with my mom and dad. They had corn hole competition going on between the four of them! Thanks mom and dad for entertaining Jenika and Javon while Jordan and I enjoyed a few hours out shopping! We made a dent but we will be out shopping again the next few weeks as we try to come to grips with the reality that school is coming upon us real fast!
High school, Fifth grade and third grade look huge to us but we are up for the challenge!..:)
It feels like it will be a chilly rainy weekend... Stay dry and warm as we wrap up July!!...:)
Good Night
