Our Summer So far...

Today I want to share a bit on our "fast moving" summer so far. We are moving right along and with my all time favorite month of June so near behind us I want to catch up on here a bit.

June was full of fun events. Baseball. Swimming. Some changes. Some hosting. Some getaways and on and on...

Lots of fresh garden goodies and the flowers that bring beauty to our surroundings during the summer months are being enjoyed to the fullest!!

This is what is going on outside at the moment!...

Outdoor "Pool Baseball"...

(the airplane sets ready for transportation to the cabin for the Zook family weekend...)

And indoors... We begin our July off with the Zook family on vacation most years and the prep is in high gear... The Zook family just loves food and it takes tons of it!! This year I'm in charge of a breakfast... I'm trying to do the dirty work here in my home kitchen today so it will make the process simple in the cabin kitchen...:)

The muffins I made flopped... Eva is the best muffin baker ever and she has me spoiled! She made a perfect batch yesterday and I decided to add another batch to hers today just so we have enough and they flopped.... since my last three batches were flopped I have decided to retire from muffins...:) I guess the only we get them is if Eva makes them...:)

Eva Jane has started to do my weekly cleaning here for us. Ada was here to clean for the past year or so but they have moved west so I was looking for a replacement helper... With Eva here more and also moving in to Lancaster from Franklin full time now it seemed like a great fit... I love having her here. I'm sure it will take time for us both to adjust but I think it will be fun to have her clean here!

Eva has also started a reception job down at the shop for Dave's Horizon Structure business. She has lots of changes going on in her life these days and patience and grace she will need in the days to come... She is smart and her personality is feisty yet so lovable! We have come to love her like our own and she has become comfortable here and we love that about her!...:)

Justin called me in a tizzy a bit ago... He has a ball tournament starting this evening and he is stuck in traffic a few hours from here... "Can you put my ball stuff in my car???  please???".. Sure Justin lol...:) About a half hour later he calls again and I pick up the phone laughing because it was the third time he called by now... What now Justin?? "Can you get Eva at Kath's and bring her home cause I'm getting later and later here in this traffic?!" Sure Justin lol...:)

He is a party for sure and he still keeps this place hopping more then any of the other kids (Jen is pretty close)...:) It was he who set up the "pool baseball" out front and Dave and I just shake our heads as he clutters this place up for an hours worth of "FUN".... We are left with his aftermath just shaking our heads and sometimes we are for real ticked...:/ He is the perfect mess maker then he disappears and expects the rest of us to clean up after him.

Jordan is at the shop today. He had a huge steel plate order that just got shipped out of here yesterday so today is his first day working at the shop this week because the plate bending and boxing had him busy here all week until today. He wants me to drop him and Mark off at Park City tomorrow and they will Uber home! He makes his own money and then he spends his own to...:) It's been really good for him! Here he is talking to his driver Ray about the delivery... The van is packed totally full of boxed steel plates!!

Haircuts... He is starting to tell me how he wants his hair cut and he styles it himself now!...:)

Green juice.... It gets picked fresh, juiced and and consumed most every morning here... Right now most everything that gets put through the juicer is from the garden... So yummy!!

We have planted some new grass... Some of the holly bushes got pulled because we felt kind of boxed in on our back porch... We opened things up and we like it better already! (except for the straw covering the new seeds) It is really coming up fast though in this perfect growing weather!!

This picture seems a tad turned around... The young generation sits and watches dad work!...:)

The swimming pond... It is already a hangout for the kids!! The water was being pumped in but then a leak was discovered somewhere so the pump was shut down. Today they are fixing it so hopefully next week we can fill the pond up and start the swimming fun! The kids are going to love this!!

We cannot see the pond from our house but Jonathan's can. It is closer to them. They will have more of the action. (they already do anyway...:)) A fence will surround the pond. This is something new for us back here on our property. We hope to enjoy this fun swimming hole in the years ahead... It should be all set to go after next week!

Dave is busy as ever. He has syndication open for different investment opportunities. He studies and educates daily. He plans events to teach others how deal flow works. He teaches on topics like cash flow, taxes and more! He loves this kind of thing! Last week he had a speaking event way up in Lebanon and I drove an hour to surprise him!! His shocked look when he saw me was worth it and it was great for me to actually sit through one of his speaking courses... It helps me understand better what it is that he actually does on evenings like this...:) Most times I stay behind with the kids.

He is getting ready for a few speaking events here in our area so if you want to know what he has going on come out and take a look...

I forgot to share that Dave was arrested in New Jersey. Hand cuffed and off to the police barracks he went... It was there that I had to bail him out!!...

I'll get to that story soon...

Look who is now engaged!!... These two love birds are planning a June 2018 wedding! Little brother is so happy in love with his beautiful girl!... Congrats to Allen and Lynn!! This is super exciting!

Mom was in the hospital again... Two days. She keeps having these irregular heatbeat/blood pressure issues. They take her in in a rush every time. They won't let her out of bed like her life depends on it. They test and test some more but every time so far all tests comes back normal. They send her home. It is frustrating for her and this time she was in tears when they told her she needs to get to the hospital as soon as possible again! Because she knows by now she is a mystery to the doctors! She also reacts to a lot of medication and testing stuff they give her so she gets all paranoid about the hospital...

Pray for my mom.

Last week us and Jonathan's served our parents a fancy meal for Father's/Mother's Day... It took place under our pergola... It was so fun to serve them... Jordan watched the Little's at Nickel Mines Pool for a few hours that day while I prepared this fancy meal... Jonathan's came to help serve (they did appetizer and the meat) and the kids all had a pizza party up at their house for the evening so we could serve our parents in peace...:) (They did sneak in and out for leftovers...:})

We hosted a fun father and son corn hole tournament here last week to!... Jordan had some of his friends and their dads in on the competition. We had a gift card for the winner. Dinner was served outback in the yard and then the games started after that and went until dark. The campfire was going and it ended up being a beautiful evening despite a tiny rain shower that passed over...

Jenika is so BLESSED with a daddy that teaches her the horse stuff... He is patient as he teaches her how to hitch Ginger to the cart... He goes with her if she is scared. (which is less often these days)

She rides Ginger for hours! Jordan carried her in the other day with a bad side bruise! She put ice on it awhile but was soon back on Ginger again. She said she fell off "but it wasn't Ginger's fault"! She said ..:)

We visit the library. Reading gets done every morning. Jenika give Dave a book report every evening. It has been really good for her reading and spelling. If she misspells words he underlines them and she goes back to redo them. It is hard to get the reading and writing in that we know they need to keep up with on these gorgeous summer days!! If it doesn't get done in the morning it can get stressful because by bedtime they are exhausted!

The beach in early June... With the Zook family... Here are some more of the pictures. It was a beautiful weekend and we enjoyed the time away so much!! The sun beat so hard and we got more tans then we were ready for! It was a great start to our June!!

Dave was arrested on this getaway... Here is that story...

We were going out to eat on Saturday evening. We were driving my car. Jonathan, Marilyn, (holding Marissa) Justin and Eva were all in the back. We were a bit overloaded. Dave cannot possibly drive 25 mile per hour for very long and at the beach it's pretty much that speed or else! We were caught going 42 in a 25. The cop pulled us over. Dave started his small talk and it seemed as though he was going to let the whole thing slip. He took Dave's info back to his car. We were making small talk but soon I could tell Dave was really nervous. Another cop had pulled up and now there were two of them.

They both walked up to Dave's window and the one asked him to shut off the car and get out. He did so. Soon he comes up to my window and told me he needs to go with the cops!! I'm like WHAT!!??

He had a warrant out for his arrest in New Jersey since 2001!! It must have been back when he was hauling sheds. They said he didn't pay a fine and didn't show up for a court hearing! He didn't remember! They handcuffed him and hauled him off!! Justin was a sight in the back seat as he laughed and laughed!! He called Jordan and told him "They hand cuffed dad and hauled him off to jail!!" Then they both laughed!! Seriously I wasn't laughing!!

I got in the drivers seat and we drove to the restaurant where we were to meet the others. Mark Andrew met us on the sidewalk with some cash that I needed (this was the only way I could bail him out!) and I drove off to the police barraks. When I got to him he was cuffed to the bench he was sitting on!! Seriously Whatever!...

It was a real fun weekend other then this small incident. Aw yea except when Jenika had to be hauled in from a rip currant by the life guards!... It was only a few minutes after we arrived. I was still inside unpacking. Dave took the kids to the beach awhile. She had a boogie board thankfully but she went out to far and the waves wouldn't let her come back in. She was real scared. I like life guards and if it is up to me we set up right next to them but if its up to my guys we go swimming when they are off duty! Seriously... Ocean is boss.

Ice cream on the side walk...:)

The whole Zook brother clan at a burger joint for supper...

We had a private section on the beach and it was often just our group in one section... It was the best!!

I love how these two connect... Cousins are truly one of the best gifts God could give!

These two know how to fight and hash it out (they can both be feisty) but they sure know how to laugh to and I loved to watch them together on this fun trip!... :)

Today we are packing for the cabin and kids camp! It will be the first that Dave and I will be at the mountains with the Zook's without the kids! They wanted to do kids camp instead and since they talk about camp all year long we decided to keep the camp registration again this year.

Happy July...
