Its a New Year!!
Here we come 2019!
Today...
This is me every January...:)
I'm so glad that my family enjoys food like this!! Especially when January's come...:)
The dishes include... Sweet potato, onion (mini and large) red and yellow pepper, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, shredded beets, yellow and green squash, mini organic potatoes, whole grain pasta or wild rice, black beans, green cabbage, carrot, wild caught fish and organic chicken.
Most everything got sauteed in olive or coconut oil. In cast iron. The fish was seasoned and broiled.
I added a bit of sauce to the tops of the potatoes and chicken but other then that no sauce or cheese to these. The seasonings I used today was this mixture...
The house was so quiet today! The school Christmas Break is over as of today and the school kiddos are back in school. Even Jazlyn was out for grooming!
Dave and Justin are back to work and the routine was actually welcomed here today. It was back to "up before daylight" here this morning but at least the days are back on the way to longer daylight time now... I guess that means Spring is in sight...:)
The sleeping longer on school breaks is always a real treat to all of us!!
Dave and I had a fun Anniversary getaway last weekend. It was a twenty four hour date in the city.
We ate great food and hopped lots of fun shops. I always realize after these dates that you can go really far places with just your feet!...:) We walked and walked miles upon miles! Its always harder for me to keep up with Dave by the time we are almost back at our room each time...:)
Lancaster has a county park with trails and when walking these we didn't feel like we were so close to the city slums at all!
The coffee is always better from a small coffee shop and we always carry books to pull out when we stop for a break.
Thanks for the fun getaway Hon!... I look forward to many more anniversary date with you!
The three youngest were home alone with Jen in charge and she is starting to take "charge" seriously! I just laughed when Jordan sent me a text telling me "Jen is being so bossy!" She had the house in tip top shape when we got home and she had a load of laundry folded so neatly that I had to look twice!...:) I LOVE having a girl around to help with all things "house"!
I did promise Little Miss a few hours of shopping for a job well done! We need to get that on our schedule now for sure...:)
The Christmas tree was so fun this year but it went outside this week... It feels great to declutter after Christmas is over and the Tower Garden got taken outside, cut down and cleaned this week to. The new plants should be ready to go in by this weekend. For now we have two huge bags of greens in the fridge and I might have to buy some for a time. This is what the new plants are looking like today...
A New Year... I'm never really one to get all into writing down new goals but it does feel great to look back at the past year and see the many ways that God has BLESSED us! It does feel great to roll over into a New Year and think about the ways to better impact the world around us.
I always like it at home. Dave always likes to travel.
I cringe inwardly when he starts to book flights and line up places to go in the New Year...:]
He has much going on and many of his interest ventures happen far away from home. I am BLESSED to be able to go with Dave more often and easier then I used to and I am always good once I reach that travel destination...:) Its just the mind over matter process that gets me every time...:)
I'm off to get to laundry catch up...
Have a BLESSED New Year 2019!!
We have so much to be THANKFUL for!!
