So first off the hike up Mt. Arbel happens tomorrow. Dave and I ran a bit along the Galilee this morning... It was so beautiful!!
We started out at 8:00am.
The first stop was the town of Magdala. This is where Mary Magdalene was born and Jesus taught in many synagogues here in this town!
There were some places inside of a church where worship took place.
The paintings here spoke so loud as we imagine Jesus doing many miracles here on this very ground!
Inside the Church in a small room we closed the door and had our own little service... It was so powerful and we were all touched when Jordan declared physical healing then reached out to touch the garment of Jesus next to the woman that had a blood hemorrhage for twelve years! Just his touch healed her! She had tried Doctors and many things on her own strength I'm guessing but all she really needed was to have faith and touch his garment... Read the story here... Matthew chapter 9 vs 20-22.
The caves in the side of the mountains are all over the place here! Its amazing to see them and the locals make use of them for stables when they can! I'm sure they provide shade and cooler temps for the people and animals! We are told it often goes into 100's temps here and we feel so fortunate to be tying a jacket around the waist to pull out at times and not sweating all the time!
This hotel going up revealed an old fishing village and a synagog here in Magdala. Its all so AMAZING as we picture Jesus right here in this very place teaching and healing!
Our next stop was here...
More synagogs...
This was the house of Peter's mother in law... (Jesus came here to heal her!)
Everyone is always drawn to "The Sea of Galilee"!
Some really great conversation...
Mel and Lisa along with Matthew and Marilyn are here on this trip with us! Its been great getting to know them better. Back in the Fall we sold four Israel tickets at our school benefit auction and this family was the buyers! They seem to really be enjoying their time here!
Next stop was here... The Mountain of the Beatitudes... It is believed that Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount here...
Next we drove about an hour (we have learned how to rest and sleep sitting up) and we all take this time on the bus to rest a bit...
This is up North at the city of Dan...
We hiked some beautiful trails after our picnic lunch!
Our guide Ori reads lots of scripture throughout the day...
Abraham's Gate...
Much could be said about the City of Dan and I hope to touch on it later …
We ended our tour day at an olive oil processing plant... It was so interesting to see how the olive oil process works and the many amazing benefits and uses of this oil!
We are tired and off to bed... I know you guys are just getting home from school back home but we have 10pm here and after the hiking today we are tired!
Tomorrow looks full with an early start hiking all the way up Mt. Arbel!!
Today was full of God moments once again!!
We are being so BLESSED over here in "The Land that Jesus walked"!
Good night from Tibereas!
