Summer Break... So Enjoyable!

God has blessed us with rain just in time again! I was watering garden and some flowers last evening way to late and planned to finish them first thing this morning but during the night God watered for me,  much better then I could have with my watering can! Our new shrubbery is so thankful to!

This week should be a busy one here but I'm not feeling it to bad yet. Either I'm unconcerned about hosting a hundred and fifty people here next week or I'm just tired of thinking about it. I like to host but if I have to stress over it it's not worth it to me. I decided to give it a rest and just be okay with not everything getting done the way I wanted it to...:) Dave is a help and so are the boys but I still find myself wanting to go over the things that they have already done just because it's not done how I would do it...:}

Yesterday found me at the "Gluten/Food Sensitivity Group" at Linda's. It's always a great time of learning and sharing ideas. I always leave inspired. It is not fun to have to deal with food sensitivities in our family but hearing how other people are going through it to just helps the journey seem lighter. I have some new recipes to try including a cauliflower pizza crust! I will let you know how it turns out. It really is amazing how creativity takes a hold once you have to get creative!...:)

Brother Allen lost some of his finger yesterday when a playhouse they were tearing apart came down on it!! I was flipping out and pitting him like crazy but he keeps sending me these funny texts and he is making a joke out of it!! He was like... "I saw I lost my finger so I started looking around for it and then I was like "Aw yeah over there it is!!":)  He has to go for surgery today to remove the broken bone and I think he lost like half the finger!! I haven't seen it yet. I told him losing some of a finger is no joke and I that I will pray for him!...:) He said "Okay Thanx"...:)

I have my Justin at home today so I'm off to make use of his "Man Power" around here. He likes Thursday's off so he can sleep in a bit longer and he can be a great help around here~! Dave had a list of chores for him on the counter this morning to go along with my list.... Thanks Justin!!

We are planning to making some changes around the house!! We had Manny D (our builder) here this morning going over some water issues. We need to change the way the water flows when we have heavy rains to keep it from coming into the basement. We plan to put a roof on our side porch which we hardly use since it gets the hot hot sun in the Summer time. We use our back deck all the time and we can have a clutter with the campfire pit, outdoor dining set, grill and other odds like flower pots and bird feeders...:) plus lots of chairs. The side porch is so perfect for the evening sunset view but with the heat we just never use it much. We hope to change this soon...:)

 We are planning to make the side porch into our "dining porch" for the grill and dining set. I'm so excited to see how this will turn out! It will also keep the dog away from the food since it's a closed off deck. This alone is exciting! The dog is still driving me crazy! She is eating the outdoor trims and she likes to chew on wood chips so she also chews the new blueberry bushes that we just planted!! It's okay she will soon be done chewing and she is doing better around the fish pond so we are making out fine...:)

The past few days had me turn on the air conditioner! It was the "Hot Hazy" type of summer weather where the bananas go from green to the brown spot type in a day and the air is just so heavy,  so the air was turned on. Today has cooled off a bit and it's cloudy to. Kind of a nice break since the hazy heat can dry things up so quickly! My kiddo's sure have nice tans though with all the swimming!! I have yet to sit out and sun myself! I'd rather work in it. I just seem to have less patience for sunning as I get older...:) My days go by so quickly to. I just don't enjoy sitting there baking my skin the way I used to!...:) I really like to hear the kids swimming and laughing as I work! We are enjoying this summer school break very much!!

I'm still running but not to far. Time is the issue. I did five miles on Tuesday but it was already so warm I thought I'd collapse before I got back! Jordan saw me all wore out when I made it into the house and he said "Duh Mom... It was just five miles"!!! I wanted to club him!...:)
I have started the attic DVD's again to. Strength training coordinates so well with running so I like to mix it in even though I'd much rather just run!...:)

Enjoy this Cooler Summer Day...

These two just go and go all day long!! I was jumping with them a bit ago on the trampoline but after mornings I don't hardly see them unless they are hungry. (which is often since they play so hard!) They go from one thing to the next and just have a blast together! I cannot imagine what he will do when she goes back to school!!
