March... "For Such A Time As This"

We have a snowy/icy Sunday here. It has been so cold throughout the month of February! Our heat source was kept very busy this winter! We are so thankful for it!

We are happy to welcome March!! We hope to see some warmer weather and more time spent outdoors!

Today was a church Sunday. Hk's are in Florida and Amy had the message today but somebody was needed to have the opening. Dave was asked and he did a great job opening the service. He shared from the story of "Esther". "For such a time as this" I can read Esther's story over and over and still always learn something from her courage and bravery! If she had not stood up for her people God would have made another way available but then what about Esther? She would have missed Blessings for sure.

How often do we choose to take the easy road instead of one that requires courage and bravery like Esther's was?. We tend to stumble about when we are out of the will of God and the feeling is one of disorientation and stress is always there to make our road harder. How often do we take the hard road of bravery and courage and then see the blessings that follow?

I want to become more like Esther and view my journey as one of being here "For Such a Time as This".

We are looking forward to soft pretzels with some of the Zook family this evening. The weather makes me want to curl up in a blanket but when the Zook's gather at Chris and Ruth for her yummy soft pretzels it's not something we want to miss..;) We are looking forward to it Ruth!

The week ahead looks busy for us here. Florida gave us a golden opportunity we just can't turn down! Smoky and Kath had a house reserved for two weeks. They needed a driver. Brother Allen was the one willing one but he of course needs help with that!...:) My Little's and I plan to be that help...:) It's only that Smoky backed out because of house remodel and we cut the trip short a week. Mom and Dad are already there so we are so looking forward to time spent with them in the sunny south! Just wondering how we could stick sis Marilyn in the suitcases yet!??

Dave will be heading off to the Summit at Sea the same day that we leave for the south. This was another reason that I couldn't turn down the trip. He will be sailing for a week educating some more while I hang out in the sun...:) The big boys are so brave with staying back to look after things here. We are making arrangements for them to have somebody here with them every day.

I look back at how we have taken the "Baby Stepping" process at teaching the big boys to be more independent. I never want my kids to be completely dependant on me to hand them everything. Even food at mealtime! They knew how to make themselves good food at young ages! The Little's are already good at it to and I'm finding it pays off in the long run...:) Jordan's diet does not restrict his kitchen time, in fact I think it increased it more then ever! For this reason I can sneak away for a few days at a time now and then.

Gluten meeting is scheduled for Wednesday here. Ten o'clock. Invite anybody that you know might want to come! This is not only for people that have issues! This is for anybody that wants to "Baby Step" to better health. Anybody that wants to learn healthier food alternatives. Anybody that wants to cut out processed food yet feels overwhelmed. Any mother that has children that have skin issues, stomach or bowl problems, sick often, on medications often and much more! I want a really good turnout this week because I plan to determine this week if I will keep going with this. It seems like much interest is there but the turnouts have not been the best and then I feel bad for the few that show up expecting better turnouts. The more people that are here the more we can learn from each other!! I will serve a light snack and you are welcome to bring a favorite recipe, book or DVD that you might want to borrow off to bless others.

Enjoy a Cozy Sunday evening....
