March Blizzard...

Winter is still here... It brings so much beauty and also messiness all in one wintry package!

 This storm was predicted to be massive!

The snow started in slow last night as we were heading to bed and this morning when we woke up I was expecting way more snow to be on the ground! It had turned to sleet and freezing rain for a few hours giving us less of it. It is a heavy wet icy snow. Shoveling is a real chore because the snow is heavy and sticky! I did enough to feel it in my arms but I hardly made even a slight walking path!

The neighbor came over yesterday and said he would love the job of opening our very long driveway for us if we get the blizzard that was predicted! He said he don't want to work for free but he will treat us fair. I said "okay I'll text if we need a plow". This morning he came over and talked to Justin and I guess Justin made it sound like it was okay to come plow and also to get his truck pulled out of the snow. (where Dave had gotten it stuck!) He came... He started plowing...

 Justin went out to ask a price before he plows the whole thing. 250.00 is what he wanted!! Justin flipped and came in to ask me if we wanted to spend that much!? I went out then...  "No Thanks" we are okay. We normally just blow shut back here again anyway so we just take a four wheel drive in and out a few times to give us a good pack... we make out fine like that most times. He acted so thankful for the job and I felt so bad. We did pay him some to make a swipe in and out. That sounds like a lot of money to plow a driveway! No wonder he was happy for the job! Lesson learned on my end... I think we will just let it melt...:}

The kids were super excited for this snow but now they are not real impressed with this kind of snow... It does not pack. It is hard and crunchy. The four wheeler just sinks and it hardly goes. It is so cold and windy! They bundle up and try to go out and enjoy it but they never last long out there.

 I think it looks lovely from the house so we will watch for Spring from in here. We are so thankful for a warm cozy house as we listen to the winds whip and see that blowing snow!

They did have great intentions... They made a ramp. They were going to pull each other on the snowboard and go up the homemade ramps. It looked like it could be fun  but as they tried to make a trail with the four wheeler to get started they just sank and the wheeler didn't want to cooperate!... They gave it up after a short while and we will probably find the buried homemade ramps scattered about in the yard after this snow melts...

The noise coming from the basement indicates they brought the leftover energy indoors for indoor football instead of the freezing cold boarding and sledding. With Justin back again the noise level ramps up... He has always been the most active of them all and he always gets the rest of the kids all rowdy. He is a blast to be around. We miss him when he is gone. It just takes extra patience for the ruckus he creates...:) I love to hear the squeals of laughter! Eva is in Franklin with her family for a few days. Her and Justin enjoyed Florida so much! Mom and Dad enjoyed them so very much to!! Mom and Dad were to start home on the bus yesterday but this storm had them waiting until today to leave. They left Florida this afternoon and are planning to be back home tomorrow morning. We hope to all get together to catch up this weekend sometime.

It looks like a movie and popcorn kind of evening... The kitchen gets cleaned just in time for the next round so it seems...:) A big pot of chicken soup and a crock pot of kabasi and veggies for sandwiches made the food prep easy for today... The mess... It can wait until I'm here alone again...:) For the moment we enjoy the snow from the windows...

I hear the snowmobiles going out on the roads and I'm more then happy to be indoors and off the roads for the time being... We are truly stuck back here and we really don't mind at all!...:)
