I love living here in this beautiful Country side!!
March has been hopping along at a high rate of speed!
School has been going well for the school kiddos since we are home from Belize. The adjustment went better this year then last for all of them. We are happy we are having a mild winter and the spring work has already been started. The greens in the garden were growing back during that warm spell and I picked some for a few mornings breakfast but then it froze out again last week. Now this week it looks like its perking back up but I see some snow in the weekend forecast... Up and down we go as we wait for "Spring"!!
Dave is back from Dallas and we are so happy to have him here with us again!
Justin and Eva are coming back from Florida this weekend. It really seems like ages. Mom and dad have been enjoying vacation with them and Allen and Lynn. They have had some drama that they didn't bargain for but I tell them "It gets you out of your comfortable elderly life box"...:)
Justin had been grilling a lot of their supper in the back yard of the Florida house and the other evening he dumped the hot coals out under a tree. Mom and dad told him to make sure they were out before they go to bed. They were having a campfire in the back yard so Justin said he would watch it. He thought it was out. They went to bed. At four o'clock dad got up to go to the bathroom and saw an orange glow outside the window!! They had fire!! Dad woke Justin and Allen and they quickly got hoses and buckets of water!! The PVC privacy fence was burning. Some bamboo had been close by and I guess the coals got a hold of the bamboo shooting the fire upward! The fire company came out and the house on the other side of the privacy fence had the people inside scrambling as they quickly packed suitcases to get out before the house burns!
Dad and Allen got a new section of fence and installed it. I don't know how it all looks but I'm sure lessons were learned!...:)
We have a new gal living in the house with us.
We have a beautiful young woman using the guest corner of the house. (Eva's room) Eva is living at Kath's now and rarely uses the room anymore so when the opportunity came up to house this gal we thought why would we not? We always said if some need like this comes up we would love to give our basement or guest corner up for something like this.
We feel we are really to blessed not to share... But it is still stretching. We don't believe God puts people into our path for no purpose. If we said "No" to all the doors he opens we might squash what he really had for us. How many times have we missed an opportunity that he gave us or put right in front of our noses?
Many times I just know it. We humans can be so blind. I know I can!
We just get busy.
We get occupied.
We get distracted.
We fail so many times and yet God's grace is still sufficient and his mercy is new every single day!
Every day when we wake up we have that invitation on our night stand to meet with him and seek out what it is he has in mind for us today. How often do we skip right past his invitation without even a glance or even a thought for that matter?
How often do we strive to meet all the goals on our own agenda while totally missing what God really had in mind for us?
... anyway that was random...:)
Her name is Jess. She has only been here for a few days. The adjustment for her is real hard. She has a difficult journey that she is walking. She walked away from a husband and a home where her dreams are because it was just urgent to do so... Maybe I will share more on her story sometime but for today not yet. We hope to bless her with a safe hiding place "from the storm she is walking outside" while she is here. We do not know how long she will be here.
Pray for us that we could be used by God as we open our hearts and home and embrace Jessica and above all else become prayer warriors for her in this difficult journey she was asked to walk.
Some of the big eaters are back in the house! I notice a huge difference in the grocery shopping, cooking and laundry when my three big guys are away but now we have them all back but Justin and he comes back in a few days so we stocked the freezer with goodies to just make life more simple! It is the way this kitchen crew stays sane... We go for healthy 80% of the time and these yummy whoopie pies going into the freezer for lunches are on that latter 20%...:}
Again this day!!... I love the SUNSHINE streaming into the windows!! Thank You Jesus!
Get out and enjoy it!!!
