Justin is Fifteen!!

Happy Birthday Justin!!

We took a walk on this "beautiful" sunny Saturday afternoon to capture pictures of this young man on his special day...

His age and stage is fun. I can hardly believe it has been fifteen years since we had our first baby! I declare every year seems to go faster! I love his love for life and the goals he sets for himself. He is a hard worker and is now officially stronger and bigger then mom! Still waiting on dad but still catching up mighty fast!...

Justin still likes action. If he gets bored you can bet someone will soon be hollering or running in the house somewhere because he takes his boredom out on his siblings and teases or harasses them so bad!

He wants freedom. He likes to go out with friends. He likes to stay up late. He likes social life a lot! He has many friends and continues to make them often. He is a people person and is often the life of the party. Not sure about his school life though since all his teachers at the first PTC described him as "the quiet one"!! I'm like... Excuse me, did you say quiet??!! Not sure what is going on there?? Maybe still just not real comfortable with high school? He is actually enjoying it more since basketball started.

I love the talks we share!! He is open and honest and if I'm patient his heart will open up to mine.

He can tend to space out when I start one of my so called (by him) "Preaching Sessions" but I preach anyway! No easy road for teenagers these days and even if he thinks I'm totally clueless I really do know more then he thinks so I preach to him! It was hard to keep a Godly focus back when I was a teenager and I know it's much worse in the day we live in today!!

Cell Phones brought a whole new meaning to the word teenager for me... I think these things are dangerous and used as a tool by the devil if not cautious and on guard. I'm scared when I think of all the ungodly things the teenagers have at there very fingertips these days! I want to trust that this teenager is ready for all the tricks that the devil will surely hurl his way in this stage of his life. I want to trust that this teenager will be a "Good One". I want to believe he will chose only good Godly friends. I want to believe he will never give in to the devil and his lies. I want to feel ready to send him out to youth group and expect him to make all the right choices.

I for some reason don't know if I'll ever feel ready to give more freedom to our teenager, but weather I can help it or not the time is approaching fast for him to step out and discover the path for himself. With God's grace and wisdom on our side we are choosing to embrace this teenage stage with a positive mindset... Our teenagers can make a difference in the world around them! They can believe in themselves and seek God's will and purpose for them. Though it is sure to be hard and trying many times they will need to fight to stay the narrow path just the same as anybody else. Not an easy ride for sure. Still God does not give more temptation to any man that he can not withstand!

Justin is a huge help around the house! He does chores willingly. I really enjoy his strength and the way he just digs into the hard and not always fun stuff. We still seem to have to nag for him to put his things away in the proper places when he is done with them and to do his chores with 100% effort. Working on this...:) His room is his to care for and some days I look in there and just shake my head but the next time it can be perfectly tidy so he does get to it eventually...:)

He made supper the other evening! It was yummy!! Jordan made supper the night before and it was good to, but Justin was not just real impressed so he said "Tomorrow night I'm making supper!" We were all into it though a bit skeptical...:) He did great!! He made stuffed mushroom and a yummy "Jordan Friendly" dish with chicken and mini potatoes. He made some of the mushrooms Jordan Friendly and some not...:) It was cute how he had them separated on the pan in the oven..:)
I love knowing my boys are great in the kitchen! I love that they can cook and bake no problem! They are tidy with it to... Jordan a bit more then Justin but still both do a great job!

Justin... You are a blessing to me! I love being your Mom! I love the serious talks we share! Thank you for making me laugh often! Thank you for being the big brother that your siblings can look up to.
Thank you for doing book reports even when you don't always feel like it...:)  I love how you step up to the plate and do the "man things" when dad is out for a few days. I love when you say "Thanks for the yummy food Mom" I love the way you say "Yes Mom" when I call your name for something. I love having a fun young man in the house! I Love you more then you will ever know!! Happy Birthday!! I hope your fifteenth year is filled with many Blessings and "happy, memory making moments"!
Love Mom.
