Our weekend at the cabin was short but sweet! We enjoyed time with family and friends! We ate good food. We stayed up late. We relaxed during the day. We hunted. We ran and hiked trails. We had lovely weather! God has blessed us with a beautiful "new home away from home"! We have been enjoying a cabin for many years but the new location is just so sweet!
It was a success and our first deer of the season is now at the butcher shop. Dave shot this six point on the first evening hunt. Jordan missed a doe on Saturday morning hunting with Dave. Justin missed this big ten point before he spooked him right over Jonathan's way! It was getting dark. To dark to shoot! Justin was not real familiar with his little tree stand and could not get a real comfortable shot off at this big buck about twenty five yards from him. We were happy for Jonathan. He has been watching this thing on trail cameras for awhile now. It was fun for this crew to hunt knowing we have some nice big bucks hanging around!...
Jordan was faithful in his tree stands and he caught a cold over it! I'm not sure if he wasn't dressed warm enough but he caught it. I'm slathering him with oils and running the diffuser in his room. He seems to just have a runny nose and just a bit of a painful cough now and then. He is due for an infusion on Wednesday so he is a tad low right now. We are praying he will snap out of this fast!
Saturday morning the guys were out hunting early, soon after day light when the cabin was still very quiet I snuck out for a long run. It was clear crisp and so beautiful. The roads are rolling and the scenery was breathtaking at times! I ran out five miles and back the same five miles. I had a bit more up hill on the way back but it was a fun run! I didn't even get sore over it!...:) Now I just need to keep up with longer runs...
This morning Dave and I went out for a six mile hike/run. It was again a perfect morning! We just love the fresh air and being outdoors!
The kids so enjoyed the lovely weather and they spent so much time outdoors to!...
Our week will fly by because the kids have a few days off of school which we plan to take advantage of and we plan to be heading back up to the cabin for more hunting! I even left a lot of things up there so packing should be much lighter this time around. We are so Thankful and Blessed to have this "new home away from home"!
