After the shopping was done on Saturday we had a relaxing week-end. Sunday School is great. We are studying Daniel and it's very interesting! Dave is a class teacher and I love our Sunday School class! Everyone opens up with great insights on the word!
Last evening we had no plans and just decided to hang out playing games in our pj's...:) I had made a chowder that everyone enjoyed with tortilla chips once again inspired by this wonderful food blog...www.thekitchencookie.blogspot.com I cannot say I went by the recipe though because what I had on had was different, but I cooked up all kinds of different veggies... Broccoli (gave a green tint to it.:/) onions, garlic, peppers (one harbanaro pepper...gave a kick) carrots, all my leftover veggies that needed to be used up...:) I cooked them then blended in a blender. I added a jar of chicken I had canned and a bag of frozen corn. Some broth, heavy cream and different seasonings. It turned out yummy and the boys took some in the lunches today...:)
I had just cleaned up the kitchen and was heading to the couch with my blanket and runners magazine when the driveway buzzer went indicating some unexpected guests were here? The kids ran to the window and said it's Matt's and John Jr's!
It was a burst in the door in your Pj's cereal party...!:) They came all comfy and had each brought cereal and milk! Dave made smoothies and I got the chowder back out and we ate cereal even though we weren't even hungry for it...:) It was a great surprise and the kids were delighted to have friends! They ran straight to the basement and had a real party of there own!:)
| I love how Preston is watching the smoothie...:) |
I guess Matt's crashed in on John's then they crashed in on Jr and Lyn but they had sick kids so they were not able to come along then they all came here and crashed in on us...:) They hung out here for the evening and our plans got changed but it was way more fun this way...:) We love our friends!!
Thanks guys for being such good sports and making our night...!:) Mike's and Jr. Roses we are not even jealous of you all in Florida...:} Not!!
Jonathan and Marilyn are also back from vacation in Arizona and dropped in for a visit, (will be great to have neighbors again!) Danny and Rachel Ann were here for a while to (just dropping in) We were blessed with great fellowship last evening after all...:)
Today is kitchen day... We have bread rising, cookies going, and I'm taking a baby meal to Lavern and Fannie Lynn. They had a baby girl! Congratulations you guys! I have been passing these meal papers off the last while because it makes me so busy and I don't cook as much as I used to! We have busy evenings. But when it's a cousin I just can't pass it up...:)
We plan to get a gym and Chiropractor in this evening. The rest of the week we think wedding...;) Wednesday evening set up church, Thursday evening rehearsal. Friday wedding!
It's great to see the sun shining so brightly today and I can feel just a hint of the spring right around the corner! The warmer weather will bring running fever! I can't wait to get more miles in! We are still talking maybe doing "Garden Spot Half Marathon" in April but I need to get started if we do that! The full moon run is tonight to! It would be great to run but I don't feel ready for a ten miler yet.
Interest or Commitment???...:) Think maybe I need to make a commitment...:)
Love this...
When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient.
When you are COMMITTED to something, you accept no excuses; ONLY RESULTS."
