Seriously!! Will it ever come to an end!??
These days are so sunny which is great but the wind and air are just bitter cold! I can hardly stand it that we are spending all of our minutes indoors these days! We are so thankful for heat even if it has a hard time keeping up. If I would have babies in the house I would be scrambling for an extra heat source but we are okay to just put on sweaters, slippers and wrap in blankets. We do not have a cozy house on these windy bitter cold days that's for sure!
Jordan still spends so much time with Mark on the ice!!...
He is over there right now and pretty much every night despite the frigid temps!! He LOVES it!! It's so good for him and he comes home with rosy cheeks! He walks back and forth to which is probably a mile or so across the fields!
Justin skates to but he is getting burned out. He goes over later when the big boy crowd comes. Jordan likes to get there early so he gets a chance with that hockey puck!..:) He has gotten so much better on his skates thanks to this rink!
Dave had a guys night out... My dad treated the son and son-in-laws to supper at Chili's! Dave went hungry and he loves Chili's food! Thanks Dad!!
My Little's are listening to books online. Did you ever hear of "LibriVox.org"? It's great!! Jenika loves when I read her chapter books!! We often have one going but it often gets late at night by the time we sit down to read and she never gets done! My voice gives out before she is done listening to me read! We just found out about this sight and she already has done so much listening!!! She likes the "Adventures of Reddy Fox" series. The series is by... Thornton W. Burgess. The kids all love them! Justin was a huge reader and still is but when he was in second grade he read all these books to! Now we can listen to them! It's a great thing to start when things get to rowdy in the house on these cold winter days!! The kids still need to get rid of energy somehow though! Bring on SPRING!!
This morning was so cold that we had school delays!! Two hours gave it a bit more time to warm up but it was still frigid!! I was so glad for the extra time this morning but these two hour delay morning sometimes seem more hectic then the regular routine! Tina spent the night last night so the girls were thrilled to spend the extra hours here together this morning! Jonathan's are at the cabin this week-end. The basement bedrooms are being complete! Drywall is being done... Yay!!! We can't wait for more cabin days!!
Yesterday afternoon after school my Little's made themselves a smoothie like they often do... This time they used this new milk I had gotten for a recipe...
It wasn't long before Jenika was RUNNING back and forth to the bathroom!! She had diareah so so bad!! Her little bottom was so sore and red by the time the night was over!! She didn't have to bad of a stomach ache but it was just running through her nonstop and she was scrambling to the bathroom every few minutes! I felt so bad for her because Tina was here and she couldn't even play long before running for the bathroom again!! I wasn't real sure what was going on until Javon started with the exact same thing about an hour after Jenika did!! I put the two together and told them to show me what was in the smoothie. I guess we won't be buying this milk again!! It's more like a sweet drink then a coconut milk anyway!! I can't even remember what for recipe called for it anymore but I won't bother to get it again...:)
The two hour delay this morning had Jordan wanting to make something different for breakfast... Pancakes are a favorite here but mostly just Saturday mornings. He found this recipe on Pinterest and they were so good looking even I (not a pancake fan) tasted one and it was yummy!!
Here is the recipe... It was a bit runny though so he added a bit of white rice flour until the texture was just right...
I overheard Jordan tell Dave "You should have seen Mom's breakfast this morning!" Dave... Why?? Jordan... It was a pancake with tons of greens (you could hardly see the pancake) then an over light egg and avocado and then maple syrup on top!! Such a fuss they make about my food sometimes!...:)
Thanks Rachel Ann for today!! I had her back today for a treat!! I so miss her!! Last week I was still cleaning up my kitchen floor at six o'clock in the evening!! I was cleaning literally all day to get my Friday cleaning done! When I'm at it alone I get sidetracked and sticking to it is just harder! Plus I see all the odds and ends that need done in each room that Rachel Ann normally cleans! We waited until the kids were off this morning (two hour delay) then we got to it, we had the whole house done in about three or four hours. Four if you count all our "times out" to chat...:) Poor Javon is usually so ready to see Rachel Ann go but he likes it that I'm done cleaning so early so I can then hang out with him..:) He likes to eat when he's bored and he gets more snacks on a Friday morning then any other time I think!! Cleaning days are not his favorite but it feels so good to get it done in over with!!
We love week-ends! It feels so nice to put the lunches in the closet for a few days straight!
