Away For a Few Days...

We are BLESSED to be enjoying a few days here...

 At the cabin!!

The school kiddos only had a half day today and they have the rest of the week off!! We are happy to sneak away from the busyness for a bit and relax and hunt!

We appreciate what I call our "cabin wagon" for trips like this! I love my new car for many many reasons but I'm glad we didn't have to say good bye to the van just yet.

 I packed this thing full of food, hunting gear and suitcases while the kids were finishing up the last few hours of school. Packing for grown children is so much easier then when they were small!! I still remember the stress It could be to get ALL the stuff packed when I had babies!! Now they all throw in there own clothes, I do the food packing and small trips like this are a breeze.

I picked up Justin at the shop and we headed to school for the three school children. Dave had a meeting and he didn't know how long it would last (he thought an hour but sounded uncertain) so to be sure that Jordan can get in the evening hunt (and because I was geared and ready to leave right from school) we headed up separately. He is still on his way and Jordan has been in a tree stand for an hour already so I'm glad we didn't wait on him. Having the truck here will be better if we get a deer anyway.

The leaves are peaking up here! It is so lovely and I can't wait for that early morning trail run! The guys think maybe I'll sit in a tree stand with them but I'm not feeling it just yet. Justin is not a big hunter and he plans to skip the morning hunts so with him here with the Little's I could go out in a stand.? Maybe? I love the action...:)

Being here with just our family is rare and we will treasure the moments. We don't often come up here alone and I'm thinking we should do it more...:) We are BLESSED to have this home away from home. It will be more like home during the upcoming hunting season...:)
