Our Morning Runs.... Good Bye SUMMER

Refreshing and Peaceful...

 

This four mile stretch of road has become a really special place! All seasons here are so beautiful and I like them all! Summer is so lush and green everywhere! Fall is so vibrant and full of so much beauty! Winter is clear crisp and so refreshing! Spring is new and the smells that come with this one are hard to beat but every season I think its so beautiful here!

Dave and I run/walk this four mile stretch most every week day morning.

It has become a place where we might worship, pray, think about our day ahead, strategize, have meaningful conversation, talk about family goals and dreams, talk about the kids and marriage. We run separately and walk together. When the water temperature is good we might even dip into the river after a hard run!...:) When its hot out we are shaded. When its raining a bit we really don't get to wet because of the trees. When its windy we are protected by banks and trees. When it snows its so pretty and I love that we get out for all these seasons because it makes me aware of the unique beauty each season brings.

I get the kids on the bus most mornings and go straight out to Dave's office to meet him. We are out an hour at the most and it is the perfect way to start out any day of the week! I love that Dave gets his lungs full of fresh morning air before being in the office all day everyday!...:) He does get out when he can...:)

The tower garden was moved indoors once again... The sun wasn't shining enough so I added the lights. If you see a glow coming from our house its the tower garden lights...:) It took a bit to get used to these but now we really like them and the plants do to! I cut the first greens off of here this morning and we will most likely be eating salads off of here for 8-10 weeks!

The actual outdoor garden got a good clean out yesterday. The tomato plants were pulled and the cages were stored for winter. Sweet potatoes by the tons got dug out and I have more then we will eat! The greens I got planted a few weeks ago are looking great and we will enjoy these for fall juicing!

Today is sunny and so bright! It is super refreshing after much cloudy rainy weather the past weeks!

We are so THANKFUL that Jenika and Javon are back to themselves again! It took so long for them to get strength back after being so sick and hardly eating! I will forever feel so SORRY for those struggling with "Hand Foot and Mouth"!

Jenika has a science project going on and the fair coming up has her busy on her poster board! She is doing all things research on China! Foods, Flags, Colors, Facts and more!

Javon is reading the book called "Survived" and he is gearing up to do a puppet presentation on his book in front of his class!

School sale is this week and we are in preparation mode for that!

School has us back into a better bedtime routine. Gathering earlier fir homework and stories. It makes us realize we are saying goodbye to summer for good!

It has been so enjoyable and "Refreshing" while it was here!


This is kind of how I feel about seeing fall approach...
