We so enjoyed the warmer day today! It just seems the weather is having a hard time staying warm! I have some herbs and tomato plants in the garage waiting to go into the ground. I want to wait a bit yet because we get so much wind here in this open field and it seems whatever plants I plant early really take a beaten.
The garden now has... two kids of peas, spinach, kale, lettuce, radishes, cucumbers, beets, carrots, potatoes, lots of onions planted! I need to stay out of the garden for a bit now until this stuff starts to peek through...:) The newly planted black berry bushes are really putting out nice sprouts to! I love to see the grapes and blueberry bushes start to come to life! It really is a busy time of year but every year I still say it's my favorite! Things are just popping out everywhere!
The mulch pile arrived yesterday and I will hardly rest until that thing is put away. The yard needs a good mowing and if the mower belt would not have torn I would have been at it today but to the garage it went and the mowing will need to wait a few more days.
Housecleaning is not really my thing but I do get the urge to give everything a good cleaning this time of year. I cleaned lots of windows today and the big ladder will be coming out to one of these days to get the really high stuff. The kids are back to walking home from school and I just love that I don't need to drop what I'm doing at three o'clock to go get them! The walk home is a great outlet for them to! It's straight to the barn after school to play with the four new baby goats! They spend hours at the barn!
Jenika has her field trip to Hershey's Chocolate World tomorrow! I love this field trip and I have went with each child on this first grade field trip so far. I just wouldn't want to miss it! Every time I watch the way they make this yummy chocolate I just appreciate and savor each bite more! We were all born to love chocolate right!?? God surely knew what he was doing when he gave somebody the idea of mixing things together to create such amazing flavors! I wish it was healthy and I wish I'd feel really good when I eat it!...:)
The lunches are packed for in the morning and Javon will be dropped off at Rachel Ann's so she can take him to his preschool a bit later. We will have a different morning but we are looking forward to it! I am really spoiled and will have my house cleaned while I'm out! (Thanks Rachel Ann!) I did my part though so she will be fine...:) Everybody that is raising kids needs a Rachel Ann!! I seriously don't know what I would do without my helper!...:)
Mornings are so much fun here right now! I have come to realize that I really am a morning person! I tend to get grumpy evenings when things don't go the way they should or the bedtime routine gets to late, most times I'm dead tired to and when my head hits the pillow I thank God for rest, because in the morning I feel all ready to go again and then I'm again thanking him again for the refreshing feeling of a what a good nights sleep can do for me! I think I love mornings more in this stage of life then I ever did! The kids are so much fun in the mornings and they often have me laughing about something that was said as I drop them off at school!
I always stress a bit before the lunches are all packed (three totally different ones) but the kids are still asleep at this point so they really have no idea that I even stress over what to pack in the lunches today!?? Sometimes I pray and ask God to just give me a new idea for Jordan and many times I can get creative without giving it to much thought.
By the time they then enter the kitchen I'm preparing breakfast (again three different ones!) As the kids are eating their breakfast I prepare breakfast for Dave and I. I then deliver his breakfast to him after dropping the kids at school. It's so nice he is only five minutes from school!...:) It's great to give him that healthy breakfast to jump start his day. Once I have everybody fed and off I give a great big sigh and talk to God about how I want to enjoy every moment of this stage because one day I will look back and wish for these days back I can tell!..:) It really is so rewarding to drop the kids off at school knowing we had a good morning together and we can laugh together! My kids are so funny! The boys make me laugh all the time! They defiantly get the hilarious sense of humor from there dad and it is so much fun! I mean I couldn't even be grumpy for very long if I wanted to be!...:)
The big boys have been shopping for a dog for a long time now! They want a good one for a pet and also want to make some money raising puppies.... Oh my! I think they have decided on a "Cane Corso" They are having a hard time finding the color that they want but they are patient and it seems to be coming down to the wire finally! They are so excited to have a dog around here for the summer!
Kids are in bed and I'm feeling tired so I'm off to bed. I wanted to update a bit on what has been going on here this week before I'm back with the fun field trip taking place tomorrow. It's also the Gospel Express Sale this week end, after spending six years on that committee I can't help but remember the sale week ends of the past! The work was hard and tiring! We are praying for you all and we are praying for a great sale this year ! May God Bless the Sale Committee for all the behind the scenes work that goes into this week end!! Maybe we will be there for the yummy pig roast supper... Go on to the tent for supper tomorrow evening and support this great ministry!
This was taken off of the porch the other evening as a storm was rolling in... So beautiful!... Pray for the upcoming storms to calm this week end! It sounds like parts of the country are in for some nasty tornados moving towards some big cities... Let's pray against it...
Be Blessed...
