Another Season = Adjustments...

We are into another season!! It's April and right on target the days are warmer! The grass has a green tint and people are out of hibernation!!...:) Runs are lively once again. When I go running I actually see PEOPLE out and about! The smells tell me outdoor life is back!! The grills smell great and the clean up fires are burning. I meet other walkers and runners and life out on the roads don't feel so lonely anymore!...:)

The past few days on my four mile runs I found them to be really hard! Last night I really got the sweat rolling again! I think adjusting to the very warm sunny runs takes just as much adjustment as the really cold ones do!..:) It's great though and I'll take spring runs over winter runs any day! It just takes "adjustments" for our bodies again..:)

Along with this season of spring comes work around our property.... We are busy transferring garden over into another style. The pond is back up and running which sounds so lovely through the open windows... We have chickens and guineas coming any day now.

This pond takes maintenance during the summer months but it's still so worth it...:) Now to plant some flowers for color ...:)

Dave is back from his short trip to Dallas after much hassle with planes, trains, and cars...:) He had a challenge with some delays, missing flights and canceled flights!... He finally made it home late Sunday afternoon. This was his crew on his syndication seminar...

These people are some of his favorite people to hang out with! He has come to love these folks and he has learned a ton from this crew!...:) Glad to have you back Hon...

The big boys made supper last evening on the back porch!...
I let them loose in the kitchen for the supper meal and they create amazing food! I do the breakfast and lunch meals and they most times do supper...:) I enter the kitchen some mornings extremely overwhelmed with having to pack three totally different lunches and make three totally different breakfasts! It makes my job a little less stressful to let them go ahead with supper even if I do need to clean the kitchen every night!! The food they create is so YUMMY!!

Jenika is still not into onions and peppers and all the strange things these boys eat so I still cook simple for her and Javon. They get what you all would call a more NORMAL meal so in the morning I start with Jenika first since she is easy...:) She most times gets soup or a sandwich packed in her lunch with fruit and a small dessert. She likes what she likes and would take the same thing everyday!:)

Next I do Justin's lunch. He gets a dish close to Jordan's but he is still tough when it comes to greens and rice so I often heat up his dish for his "Lunch Bot" container and he will eat it as a dip with corn chips. He gets some fruit to.

Jordan eats anything I pack and every bite is most times eaten! He is so easy to cook for even if he is the one with the food sensitivities! He will eat greens of most any kind! He does not appreciate squash or asparagus but if I sneak it in he don't complain he just pushes some of it to the side and eats around it...:) He gets his dish heated in a "Lunch Bot" to then he often dumps it out on a bed of greens and eats it as a salad...:) He is so enjoying an apple in his lunch to now!

After the lunches are packed I move to breakfast... I often save a bit of what I have mixed up for lunch and then add an egg to it. Justin gets a chicken egg and Jordan gets duck so this still requires some closer attention so as not to get them mixed up. It requires different pans and utensils to!...:) Oatmeal and fruit is often added to except Jordan waits to have his fruit until lunch. (Jordan's oatmeal gets made with rice or coconut milk, he then adds cinnamon and a sprinkle of stevia) We are being really slow about adding sugars to his diet even if they are natural sugars. He had a potato skin the other evening filled with a sloppy joe type mixture (made with venison) He did well on it and savored every bite!...:) We just started with the potato skin since potato is not something he can have to much of. Justin ate the inside of the potato with his dish...:)

We do what works and and everyday is different. It goes well for the most part but I'm going to breath a big long sigh once school takes a break! It gets crazy sometimes!! Dave often gets his breakfast delivered to him when I drop the kids off at school. His breakfast gets made with Justin's and kept warm until we go to school... I have to get up and get started early or my whole day can be stressful. The quiet time between the older children's school drop off and Javon's preschool drop off is my recharge...:)

Dave and I have a week-end away planned this week-end, out with Mikes! Yay!! I'm looking so forward to a short getaway out! The kitchen break will be one of the things I will enjoy the most!! Thanks to my mom she is willing to have my big boys and there crazy diet that comes along with them!! I was not about to ask anybody else to let them loose in their kitchen!! I texted her the picture of them grilling last evening and I said "Are you ready for this??" She said YES we can't wait for some of that yummy food...:) I plan to take a lug of food supplies for them and they will take it from there... I'll be over to clean your kitchen Monday mom...:) Thanks so much for making this trip possible for me!!...

Jenika is looking forward to time with Uncle Jonathan's girls and Javon will be at his "second home" with his "second Mother" Rachel Ann...:) The next few days look crazy as I prepare for a few days away!! I'm sure it will be worth it but until we get out the door I'm in preparation mode...:)

Javon has his field trip to the firehouse scheduled for today and Jordan gets his infusion tomorrow... I'm off to start my morning in the kitchen... Enjoy this warm spring day as you embrace the new season of "Spring" and the adjustments that come along with it...:)

Blessings...
