Summer = "One Big Party"

Summer is so busy here!! One "Big Party" at times!! We can hardly get to or host the next party fast enough!! We are having a blast though and we keep moving on one day at a time. (The only way I stay saine:}) This morning started with a four mile run. It has cooled off beautifully! We sleep a bit later in the morning since we have a later bedtime schedule these days.

We met friends at the pool one day last week... What a great way to beat the heat on a hot summer day!! Lori, Martha Rose and I met at Nickel Mine pool... The kids had a blast and these swimming days have them falling into bed at night beyond exhausted!

We had so much fun at Matt Lapp's on Sunday! The trash can supper was again a huge hit and the kids were swimming all afternoon and even after dark! We love our group of friends and it's always a great time with a few belly laughs mixed in there...:) Camera got forgotten on this one...:}

Monday was an all day Zimmerman Pond day with the Zook family! We look forward to this every year and it was great to again have Dave and Rose here this year!! Camera again got forgotten but a few phone pics were snapped to record this fun day!...:)

The men all show up in the late afternoon for a fun evening. We all bring a food to share for supper and we are at the pond until almost dark!...:)

Yesterday had me busy preparing food and getting ready for a fun appreciation supper hosted here...

 

It was an honor to serve those that were there for Dave in his biggest time of need!!

 

I even brought out the China dishes and used them for the first since our wedding day!! They were packed away in lugs and I had fun digging them out of the packages!!

 

The "Firsts" were served at the front door...

 

My mom was here most of the day yesterday helping me prepare food and going over some cleaning. I mowed the yard and Jordan did his parts. With being out all day Monday I felt a bit overwhelmed at first but we worked together and got it together nicely...:) Thanks Mom!!

Danny and Rachel Ann came to serve us and wash dishes so I could relax with the rest of the crew. This was the way to go and again my Rachel Ann was a huge BLESSING!! Thanks Guys!!

The Menu...
Pina Coloda's, Single Salads, Crab stuffed mushrooms, Shrimp cocktail, Garlic Bread, Chuck Roast I had in the smoker all day... Fell off the bone!! Yummy! A Beef Tongue to add some character...:)
Creamy Potatoes, Honey Glazed Carrots and Green Beans, Rice Pilaf.
Dessert... Snicker Bar Cheesecake and Taffy Apple Pizza.

It was a fun night... They got some Kan Jam in in between rain showers...

 

I would have loved to do this fancy meal outdoors beside the fish pond but God saw we were in need of rain so we were thankful to have a spacey dining room to host this indoors...

 

The kids had there own pizza party in the basement, then Jordan gave golf cart rides... Our Kiddo's love cousin time!! 

Thank You Papa's, Jonathan's, Nelson's, Matthew's, Mark Andrew and Justin for your part in saving Dave's life!! Hosting you here for supper does not even make a dent in showing my appreciation for what you guys have done! Love You All!!

Today is another pool day!! We are heading out the door shortly to meet my side of the family at Nickel Mine Pool. Tomorrow is another Pond Day with the Zooks!! A different pond this time! My family is feeling a bit left out since we have so many Zook activites going on!! Dave and Rose you guys sure keep us hopping!! We got another invitation to cousins for supper tomorrow evening after the pond party with the Zook's!! It seems many people want to have Dave and Rose before the leave for Africa next week so we are getting in on a few of these gatherings! We are loving it even if it makes us crazy!!..:) Not to mention FAT!!

Jordan is in week number four of cleansing. He is doing AMAZING!! He feels great!! He lost more weight and loves it!! Forty pounds now!! I tell him no more but he just grins...:) His energy is unbelievable to us!!...:) Dr. Steve is thrilled with his progress and his CHOP Doc's are concerned...:) (They would probably rather put him on drugs then change his diet)  They ordered blood work to be done before his next infusion just to check his levels and to make sure his antibody dose is still on target... They have adjusted it once already because of weight loss. Pray with us that his body is starting to make more of it's own antibodies again!!

What shall I do with this thing?? To think these bee's could kill my husband is crazy!! Now one parks a nest right up on our house!! I'm afraid I will make them mad if I destroy the creation they made. It is beautiful and unique but they could have chosen to go elsewhere with it!!

Dave leaves for a five day trip to Belize in a few days. You can bet I will be taking care of this thing on my own unless I have another volunteer!?? I hear they always have a "lookout" bee and I'm not sure the best way to go about getting rid of this thing!?

Dave is doing better again. We are looking into an Allergy Immunolgy place to get immunizations done. We are hearing of others that have done this and now when they get stung they have no major reactions. It goes against my everything to do these but we are so in love with nature that it makes us crazy to have this hanging over our heads every time we are outdoors! Still Praying for Wisdom in this area.

Last night after the party Dave thanked me for hosting and cooking the food... He was looking for the right words and he goes "You are such a good Kitchen..em...em... Thing" We laughed as I made fun of his "Thing" comment...:) His Text to me this morning was worth recording... Oh how I love this man and the laughter he brings to my life...
