Jordan is watching Angel and Sayaly for Roxie today. He is enjoying it. They are sleeping now and are very well behaved kids...:) They mostly follow Jordan all over the place...:)
The beach was so lovely yesterday! We had perfect beach weather! The breeze even had us pulling on our cover ups by afternoons! The bus ride was relaxing and it was great to catch up with my sisters as I took turns sitting beside each of them...:) Mom had her friend Sally Jean beside her and it was a great day for them to!...:)
The kids did great here with Jordan yesterday even though I'm not sure if they weren't up at Jonathan's more then not...?? Thanks Marilyn!! I got home late last evening to a campfire going, clean house and bathed kiddos. It was great because I was ready for a shower after an all day on the beach! I only stuck some dishes in the dishwasher and headed upstairs for bed...:) Thanks Jordan for doing my work on this day out for me!!
I had to hit the grocery store this morning first thing. Justin and Dave did not takes lunches so I prepared and delivered them lunch today. Dave is still not feeling the greatest. I think the drugs are getting to him yet I'm afraid not to follow Doctor's orders...? Doctor Steve adjusted him and the kids last evening and Doc said "No Way" to the immunizations that you can get to make your body immune to your allergy! It is a series of immunizations you can get to make your body immune. I was going to research it before going ahead with it and I did figured it would not be something good. I just can't stand the thought of him living with this weakness for bee stings!
He is at the shop and I'm sure his mind is never far from the fact that he was so close to death and the things he is doing out there today would have been "Unfinished Projects"
I still tear up a few times a day as I come across certain things or do things for the first time. It feels a bit like I lost him and he came back to life!
The things I'm doing for the first time since his close call feel like a huge second chance to me. My four mile run this morning brought tears to my eyes as I had to think how many hundreds of times we ran this route together!
My closet door on the inside as I put away laundry... It is loaded of pictures of us together over the years!
The sign on the local church as I came home from the shop today... "Life is a one time offer... Use it well"
Dave's favorite song came across my Ipod as I was running this morning... The one he listened to hundreds of times over and over again on his phone as he carried it around in his pocket, it was so bad that us here at home and the office crew at the shop got really sick of it! The song that I was so sick of now has a whole new meaning... "I Stand Amazed" by Chris Tomlin.
Seeing him standing and gazing at his fish pond that he loves so much, he does this often. (I do the work on this thing so my appreciation is different then his...:))
Down in the garden garage this morning to check the baby peeps and there is his parachute plane. I mean this is a guy that flies an air craft and he could be taken suddenly by a bee sting!!?? This is not really okay with me!!
Up at the cabin on our long Sunday morning walk I asked him "What would have been your biggest "Unfinished Project"? After thinking long and hard his answer was this... "Justin"
Justin is at the age where he really needs his father figure. He needs his dad more today then he ever did. I can tell Justin values his dad's opinion in every area of life and he often has many hard questions answered by his dad that really seem to register. I depend on Dave in so many areas of our home and family life. Yes I can do the yard work and some other hard things around the house but there is no way I could ever replace or take over his position in the lives of our children!!
Dave is still here and I'm moving on... Rejoicing yet Sad to think of how close it was. It just hits me from time to time but I can tell it's not healthy to dwell on the "what if's" or worry about something that I cannot control. We have some fun things coming up on our summer schedule yet and I think we will look at each one as a "Gift" in a way that we would not have if this never would have happened. I do believe God spared Dave's life because he still has work to finish here. His "Unfinished Projects" can now keep moving towards the "Finish Line" but they will move forward with a new appreciation to have been given the chance to farther finish them.
I don't know what Dave is feeling these days exactly because I'm to busy dealing with my own emotions. He seems so normal and seems to be moving on like nothing major really happened but I'm sure he is not taking this lightly either. I don't really think men deal with something like this the same way that we women do but I'm sure it has him wondering why God gave him this new chance at life. I'm sure he is seeing through new eyes at the things that could so soon have been "Unfinished Projects"
We are feeling so BLESSED!
I want to share some more pictures from the cabin in a post soon... It was a family vacation we will not ever forget...
