Labor Day Weeekend/Hot and Dry!!

Labor Day weekend was spent at home this year! We enjoyed a relaxing weekend together!

We had campfires almost every night. We let the Little's roast marshmallows to!

Justin was away Thursday-Sunday with his ball team. They spent the nights at a campground. They were in Virgina at Nationals! All expenses were paid and he really enjoyed his time away! It feels great to have him back under our roof again though! He had a phone mishap so Dave took him to get his phone screen repaired.

Friday night Dave and I went out for Sushi! My birthday supper! It was yummy! We didn't take long and we were back before dark. We enjoyed a campfire with the three youngest after that.

Saturday morning Dave had Jordan's plate order to deliver, I needed to pick up some groceries on the road for our evening meal so I asked Jordan if he wants to go with his dad to do his delivery or stay here and do my job so I can pick up my groceries. (clean a messy kitchen + entertain Little's + make brownies) He said he would rather stay home and do my stuff, my kitchen was cleaned up when I got back a few hours later! Bacon grease from breakfast and all! He has spoiled me!!

Saturday night we had our "ten year" Horizon Structure worker and her husband here for a meal on the back porch. Dave made yummy ribs on the smoker while I got the sides and detailed the back porch table. Jordan helped tons! He chopped vegetables. He made desserts! (his YUMMY Peach dessert was a hit!) He even served us! Even the coffee and the dessert! He has kitchen talent and I LOVE it!! Thanks Jordan!!

Dave got out his parachute plane and we ended the evening with a fun campfire. Thanks Jill for your years of service!

We went to Sunday school yesterday. It was very quiet with many people away! We enjoyed a meal at Sam and Marilyn for supper. It was fun to see family again! We had some deep discussions out under the shade trees! I love these special family moments when we share our hearts! Please pray for my mom and dad, the church they attend is having a few challenges that they are working through right now.

Jordan is picking pumpkins as a side job! He was out early this morning again! It's a pumpkin farmer in Atglen. He got an invitation to swim at Floyd's pond after pumpkin picking and with this heat wave we are having I'm sure that felt amazing!!

We are so dry here!! Our grass is brown! Jordan did mow some of the edges the other day but for the most part the yard work has stalled!!

Check it out!!!.. Lord send us rain!

The corn is coming off around here! The leaves are falling to! It's still hot which makes it feel like HOT July but the calendar tells us it will soon cool off and we will be getting out the sweaters. I'm actually looking forward to it now that it has been so warm and dry for so long. The Little's enjoyed swimming in Floyd's pond awhile this afternoon but tomorrow we go back to school and we are ready for cooler temps to make the school schedule seem more like it's the school time of year!

I'm looking forward to a day with my church lady friends tomorrow. We church ladies normally do a few days at the beach but this year it didn't happen so we decided to do a last minute day trip even this late in the season...:)

The weekend ahead holds more beach time!! With the Zook family. We just haven't let go of summer and summer is cooperating and not letting go of us!...:)

I want to post some of Justin's fun looking ball pictures once he gets his phone fixed and sent to me. It looked like a lovely ball field with the Virgina mountains in the back ground!

I'm back with Justin's pictures... Looks like fun to me!!...
