We are enjoying some unseasonably warm temps here!! Today is in the fifties now but last weekend had us barefoot and outdoors 24/7!! The Little's so enjoyed the golf cart and being outside all day long!! Saturday was friends day back and forth from us to Jonathan's!! I don't know how about Marilyn but I just love that the children are back and forth!! They get each other outside and they get the creativity flowing when it comes to outdoor activity!!
My camera is throwing a fit these days and I must get somebody that knows cameras to look at it before we go away. I had it to Perfect Image for a cleaning and a good look over and I know it's just a setting that is out of place but I can't seem to locate it and it's driving me crazy!! So excuse the blurriness in this post...:}
We composted the garden! If you have a "Back to Eden" garden.... COMPOST COMPOST!!!
Last year was the second year for my Back to Eden garden and I was so disappointed!! The first year it did great and I was so excited for this simple gardening style!! I guess over the first winter the wood chips took something or added something to the soil that made my stuff look like it had been nuked!! I did research on it and I found that composting is very important until the soil is stabilized! We had a hard time finding the pure chicken compost but thanks to my persistent husband and one of his many connections we got er done!! (Thanks Hon!!) I'm excited to have a better year of gardening next year!!
Justin is driving every chance he gets!! He loves to be behind the wheel and everywhere we go he is the new driver! He has drove my car a few times but we mostly go with the van these days...:) He drove us all to the chiropractor last evening and it was dark and raining. I was nervous in the front seat. He knew it. He does great but I'm still nervous...:}
Justin loves to work on road jobs!! He is motivated when he works on the road with the prefab crews! He loves to be out on jobs and the office is sending him out more and more!! Last evening he came home and told me he will be leaving at eleven o'clock PM for Massachusetts and he won't be home again until Friday night!! I miss him when he is away for so many days! I don't know if I can used to this type of schedule!?? He will most likely go out more now that he turned sixteen and he is already setting a goal to buy his own truck to take out his own road crews!... "Whew" "Breath through it and enjoy the journey!?" I packed him a large lunch last night and with it went extra kombucha and supplements. Last week when he was out for a few days he caught a cough and a tight chest.
Jordan is so busy these days he hardly knows which way to turn! I tell him to grind it out and hang in there!... He is doing extra steel plates to have a stock here in case he gets an order when we are away. He is working hard on his science project and board. He hopes to finish it this week so he won't need to stress on Christmas week to get this done before Christmas vacation!! He is researching and learning more and more about Komucha Tea every day!!... Here is his board on the nook table and also some of his research... I find it so interesting and worth reading!!... Aw yea and WORTH drinking to!!...
He has homework and is helping out around the house with odd jobs that need to be done before our winter away. It is a busy time but I tell him he can think of these few weeks while he is fishing off the dock in Belize this winter!!...
Javon is still counting down the days to his birthday! His little note card only has two days left to cross off!! He is beyond excited for his birthday day and yet on my part it feels way to busy around here right now to make a big deal out of it!?? We have banquets and dinner parties this week! His birthday is squished in between our nights out so we do plan to make his birthday night special somehow but I'm not sure how yet... I'm also not sure it will be anything that requires to much effort on my part this year! We will most likely go out to do something special since we are going out every other night anyway!..:)
Yesterday was packed here!! Dave and I ran a few miles on creek road. I cleaned out the big chest freezer, bottled kombucha, helped Jordan with plates, and the many other chores that go along with Monday's and everyday keep house work!! Some days it feels like I'm going so fast I can't keep up anymore!..:) I'm so thankful for the health and strength I have to keep up the best that I can in this time frame we are in!..;) I'm making it an "every other day" process so I can enjoy the season more!... One day I bust around here and get lots done and the next day I'll do something for fun or bless someone else. Today was the off day and it was so much fun!! This clan went to walk the fun shops at Kitchen Kettle Village... Again excuse the blurriness...
We didn't buy much but we enjoyed the time browsing. We enjoyed chatting over lunch at "The Kling House" We enjoyed lattes. We talked and laughed as we caught up on life and all we individually have going on right now! We enjoyed Kath's two little boys tons! At one point she said "I can't believe I let you talk me into bringing them with us!" but kids will be kids and over all it was so much fun to watch the expressions as they saw (and touched and tasted!) all the neat stuff in the shops! Plus they got lots of free samples!! (which made them even more hyper!:})
We live in a community where there is lots of neat things to do right here around us but many times we don't get there because we are to busy or forget about it. This is fun town around Christmas time and we enjoyed our day lots! The lights at night are fun in this village to so maybe we will take Javon here for his birthday night and let him pick out his birthday treat! I do miss my little ones on fun days like today... Thanks for sharing yours Kath even if you were a bit stressed out!...:)
I felt like whooping when I got home today to this shipment!! This shipment was prayed for and I was a bit stressed out with it all but it is now in our possession and we hope to get it to Belize without any issues! Jordan's immune system in packages... Eleven of them! We are beyond thankful for these expensive antibody cells that come from donors! These are Jordan's fight against germs! He hates infusion day but he knows how bad he needs these and he to is thankful!!
Learning to do infusion ourselves was hair raising at times and it can still be sometimes since we both don't like needles but it has helped with the independence and being able to travel. We are so thankful we learned how to do this on our own but if you can pray for us in this line anyway we would be so grateful as it can still make me nervous.
How do you plan to keep up with the extra holiday calories!? Do you do a daily exercise? It is my thing and I have come to realize the importance of exercise but I can hardly keep up once the Christmas parties start!! I realized I needed to add something... Something hard... I don't enjoy it. It is something that takes time that I really don't have right now. It takes sweat and makes sore muscles. BUT... Once it's all said and done it is worth it and I hope to continue this hard stuff since it really does get easier if given the time!... It's back to burpees and crunches for now... Come and join me!! Every other morning. It takes an hour. I don't take a clock into the room with me so I don't have to look at it!...:)
This is the time of year to give the table back to the birds!... They love it and I love to watch them from my kitchen window!! I'm hoping that anyone who stops in here this winter will fill up the feeders so I can keep them!... It takes pretty long for them to come back if the feeders are empty for to long!!
I'm off to get supper going... Have a BLESSED Christmas Season... Tomorrow is an all day kitchen day for me!... The Zook Family Christmas party is coming up this weekend and they ordered pretzel bark and lots of chocolate covered goodies!! I don't even know if I still know how!??
