When we walked in the door after church the house smelled wonderful!! Dave and I worked together this morning before our short run to create lunch...:) We had meat, veggies, potatoes, onions, mushrooms, with a sauce in the oven all morning and by the time we got home it was so tender and yummy! As I was putting the big pot into the oven this morning I told Dave how blessed we are here!! He said "At least we know it"...:)
We are having a chilly week end and some of my plants were brought inside for the night last night. I have much growing in the basement window well but I set those things inside as well. I was disappointed when I saw we had a bunny or something eat the tops off of all the broccoli and cauliflower we had planted in the garden!
The four grapes got planted this week along with the blueberry bushes. The garden has sprouted many new things this week to. I just need to get rabbit repellent out there before they find the lettuce yet!
I have been so enjoying my young men around here!! Since this is the season that comes with lots of yard work/clean up they have been a huge help this Spring already!! They load up the mulch carts for Dave to cart off and dump then it's my job along with the Little's to spread it...:) It works well and so far the job has gone well. We like to start out back because that's where we spend most of our time. We have that done. Next week we start the front and sides. It takes approx 24 yards of mulch around here in the Spring!! It's work to get it on but it sure helps keep the weed situation under better control. We are also getting lots of wood chips for around the garden and the wall of lilies will get these this year as well.
Yesterday morning I took my Mom & (sisters) Marilyn and Kath out yard sailing. Kath is expecting a baby and it's always fun to yard sale when expecting, so much of it is baby items. I normally only yard sale a few times a season, but I told them since my boys are able to stay here with my Little's and I can let them sleep, I will get up early to go more often. It's always a great time with Mom and Sisters to! It always happens that at least one of us makes out good. It feels more worth it to me when they find great finds because waking up early to yard sale alone (sometimes driving a ways) then only coming home with a few puzzles (like me yesterday) does not feel worth it to me...:) So packing the van with there stuff makes it more fun...:)
Yard sales do interfere with my long Saturday morning runs though! I have been seeing a moon and I'm thinking the moonlight run will be coming up soon. It might even be this week-end!! Sorry Sadie if it is! We will be at the cabin! I keep telling Sadie we need to do the next moonlight but it seems things often get in the way. (maybe it will be a Thursday night run)
I did a ten mile run yesterday afternoon then. It was a lovely day and I love the run down through Atglen and on through Christina. It's so lovely on a sunny/chilly morning...Just me, my Ipod, and my thoughts...:) In this case it was afternoon but it was still sunny/chilly and lovely...:) My time was...1:23:27. My energy was spent for the day then though and we had a sunny afternoon where we could have been working on the mulch pile! Oh well it will wait and get done in it's time...:)
My guys... They spend hours here on the driveway basket ball court!!
Next weeks calender shows me it's field trip time with Jenika's class to the "Hands on House", a dentist appointment for her, Spring housecleaning at church, and more outside work here...:) May we be a blessing to those God puts in our path and remember that everything we do is for his glory. We are here to work for our Lord. Today in Sunday school it was mentioned that whatever happens and things don't go the we had planned God checks our response. He blesses those that take it patiently... Traffic jams might only mean God has saved you from an accident up ahead or when things don't go right at work and the truck breaks down maybe God needed you at that garage with the truck for a special reason! Be a blessing and always do things with a great attitude even when you want to get angry!...
Life is a lesson and we are here for a purpose, may we be patient in finding out what God wants from his children...then promptly doing it...:) Have a Blessed Week!
