Planting, Mowing and More...

We have enjoyed our week! It ended with much outside clean up done!! We enjoyed the summer like days so much to! We had a great thunderstorm to cool things down about mid week. As I was tucking Javon into bed that night I told him the thunderstorm will help cool things down again, he said... But it will still be Spring right??!! He seemed so afraid this meant we are going back to Winter and after the few lovely outdoor days he did not want that!!:)

We got both garages cleaned out and organized this week! That was a huge looking task that I'm happy to have done!:) The edges are trimmed and the weeds are pulled. We have planted some flowers.(the ones that don't mind some cold) and the garden is well on it's way to!! My mulch is coming early next week so that will be another pile of work but I'm looking forward to it...:) Dave and I went out last evening to pick up six blueberry bushes (three different kinds) and four grape plants.(two different kinds) I'm excited about getting them in the ground today after Dave is done at the shop. (He will want to take a nap though cause he left at 4:30!.. Hoping to get his help before he gets to tired:}) We also stopped at Wasabi for sushi last evening!!:) Thanks to Mark Andrew for the gift card!! It was amazing as always!:)

Jordan went with Rachel Ann's Dad and Brother fishing this morning! He loved it and went out the door at seven even without breakfast! He was hungry when he returned at 10:30!! Justin is at Faith High School where some friends are in a volleyball tournament. Jenika was out with Martina early playing in the woods hut when she came running in for her Princess dress and wanted her hair done. She said they are having a Princess party at Marilyn's for Hannah's Birthday!! She got invited and was on cloud nine!! Here she is before she left... So Cute!!...
I had her hair up in a bun but she had tears about it and wanted a pony tail. This girl knows what she wants!! (oh my!) She is not the dress up type but she was so into this as long as she could still have her pony tail!!!:)

Thanks Marilyn!! You have no idea how she loves the girl time!!:)

We had a fun meal on the back porch this week!! We got a taste of Summer~!~ We grilled burgers, had watermelon, chips and ice cream! It was eat, chat then get busy cleaning up the garden shed! We burned so much junk! Our fire was hot and really burning in the burn barrel when the wind decided to whip in a thunderstorm! We had fire blowing everywhere and it was quite dry around here! We went out to check on it about 10:00pm before bed and the brush had started to burn a ways off, a lot of fire was burning on the ground to! Dave got the hose out and we were standing out there hosing it down as it was BLOWING!! The rain soon joined in and helped get the fire under control! I saw it was still smoking this morning in the barrel and it was started Wednesday!!

We put out the humming bird and Oriole feeders to!:) We hope those lovely birds find us first...:)

Justin had some leg issues this week. He even had the crutches out a few days! He fell off the four wheeler and even though it didn't hurt that much at the time it got really swollen in his knee and ankle!? His leg started with a tingle then kinda went numb. He hurt so bad when he put weight on it by bed time on Wednesday!! I put ice on it and rubbed it but I was thinking maybe Lyme's??!! He had been complaining his ankles are sore and he had a headache this week one day to. I figure more running miles is the cause of his ankle tenderness and also all the basketball he has been playing! Anyway he is back to walking with a small limp but we are thinking it must have been an injury. We are thankful for healing!

I was chatting to Justin in his room until late last night again! I got to bed and Dave was already asleep. I love these chats about life and the things that a teenager deals with. It gets really interesting at times... We always have a great conversation and lessons of life is mostly what we talk about. I love you Justin!! You are a great young man and a wonderful part of our family!! Seek Gods purpose for your life... He will give wisdom when you ask for it.

My family loves when I post! They are the first to read my posts after I publish...:) If I don't post for to many days they are the ones saying..."You haven't posted lately" or "When are you gonna post?"

I got a six mile run in this morning! My runs have been hard this week!? Not sure what the deal is but I'm hoping to do the next moonlight run with Sadie so I dare not stop now!>>>:) I like this quote...

Mom, Marilyn, Kath, and I with four Little ones made it to our favorite greenhouse this week! We do this every year and always look forward to it...:) We hook up a trailer for the flowers then we are on our way. I got lots of flowers to plant in pots and more for flowerbeds but it might be early to plant some of them so they are waiting inside for now.

My sprouts are taking off in the basement and I had them up to replant some of them this week...

Of all the seeds we planted they are all sprouting except the peppers so far...:) I think they like the basement window well as the hot bed and I'm having fun with it! Soon we will be planting these into the garden! So excited for another growing season! Everywhere I go I see people planting, cleaning up yards, mowing, and things are getting green again! Love this time of year so much!

I'm off to do mowing for the first time this season... since we again have a green yard that is getting some of those big bushy clumps here and there...:) Think I'll mow even if it could wait another week:) I'm just so happy to feel and smell Spring at last!

Jenika only has like six days of Kindergarten yet! I can hardly believe her kindergarten days are almost behind her!!:) Javon will be happy to have her here everyday! This week they played in the sand box, blew lots of bubbles, caught the first white butterfly, picked wild flowers for me, jumped on the trampoline, (I took my turn to!:}) played at the fish pond. I allow them to play here until we mulch and the pond is started and cleaned up but after Monday they will only look and play from the bridge...:) Jordan found the catfish dead this week!! He was so disappointed but I believe it was sick or something?? Hoping to get a few more for the summer because that thing really made a difference in keeping the pond clean last year!

Here is Jen telling me a story with lots of motions!!:)

Javon is so much fun these days to!! I told him randomly the other day..."I love you!" I was expecting an "I love you " back but he goes..." I know!!"  I just grinned and said "I'm glad you know"!!:)

The Little's like when Mia comes for a visit but I'm not so sure?? She has pulled out a few of my freshly planted flowers! I whacked her and she seems to know better now. She hasn't done it again... Marilyn if your flowers are pulled out one day don't be to quick to blame your kids...:)

Nine neat lessons for today...

We are looking forward to another week-end of rest :) Maybe have some friends over?? Dave always wants to have friends over!:) I told him OK last week end but then I wasn't feeling the best,  maybe it will work out this week-end sometime...? :)

                                                   HAPPY SATURDAY!!
