I decided to give my sore hands more of a break today. I could feel the stiffness in them while working the bread and picking the strawberries today. Yesterday I did hours of yard work!! I love it though and it's so where I like to be! But... I can hardly stop once I start! I worked the garden, got some more radishes, carrots and beans planted, I trimmed all the edges, mowed with the small and large mower, hoed ALL flowerbeds, then blew everything with the blower when I was done. The boys were at the shop. I had James and Micah here while Marilyn was away so Jen and Javon had friends, they were playing in the yard around me all day! The wheeler was a hit once again, with friends it's always more exciting...:)
Jenika's four wheeler has been giving trouble and often did not want to start for her. It acted like it was going to start but we could not get it going, then it just teased her setting in the garage! I got the boys to load it up and I took it to the repair guy and he fixed it while I waited. The problem was our own fault! We were putting the battery charger clamps on the starter thing instead of the actual battery! Not sure who's fault that was but the repair man was surprised we hadn't burnt up the starter! We got the problem fixed anyway and she is happily riding again this afternoon...:)
Justin has moved to the basement! He has a very warm room in the Summer and only has one window, so he set to work moving (what seemed like his whole room) to the basement today!! Mattress and all! He says he will like it better but I think he will miss his lovely view! When the full moon comes around he has the best view from his window! The moon comes in and shines right down on his face as he sleeps! He says "Who cares Mom? My eyes are closed anyway!" He takes Wednesdays off and is home all day, so we enjoy him on Wednesdays.
Jordan is spending about two days a week painting at the shop. He is learning and I think the experience is great for him.
The pool is up and running. We exchanged the pump yesterday and the pool was really in need of that pump! By now the water was completely green! I got the pump going, dumped in the proper chemicals and the pool got clear blue in no time! I hate to think of my kids drinking in this nasty poison! I tell them to keep mouths shut at all times when swimming but I'm sure they still get some water. If it can clear the water that fast it's got to be bad for the inners!
My new reads I'm enjoying...
| We ran with this guy on the last Moonlight Run... His story is amazing! |
I find when I don't have a book going I get stale feeling. Like I'm not learning like I could be. When I don't take the time to read I notice that after awhile I feel dull about life. Reading can become a habit that can be very enjoyable. I think I'm finally getting to that point...:)
I was just heading out for my run this morning when Dave text ed and asked if I had gone yet? He saw an opportunity to slip away from the office so I met up with him and we ran a lovely wooded run! Him on the trails in the park, me on the road. I ran "Creek Road" An absolutely gorgeous "along the river" run with the amazing smells of Honey Suckle!! The only thing is it is a very lonely wooded area run!! No homes for what seems like miles away! Dave told me he was going to trail run for a half hour then he'd bring the van to pick me up. I ran four and a half fast miles until he got to me.
Dave says he thinks his road running days are soon over. I think he has found a much better love for the trails and I still don't like them at all! I don't like to have to watch my footing so closely and I feel slow enough then yet when I have to do straight ups on slippery gravel or rocks! My ankles say "No Thanks!" I'll stick to the roads for now...:) I also got back into the attic this week on DVD. With the boys gone a few mornings a week I need to stick close to the house. I have yet to enjoy these hard DVD workouts but I'm sure it coordinates well with running so I'll try to stick it out for the Summer...:)
After the morning run and shower I whipped up a breakfast wrap of... Tofu, onions, garlic, spinach, two eggs, topped with tomato and avocado then put into a small wrap. It was yummy and Jordan even wanted a bite! I gave him a bite and he says MMM as he's walking away... I don't think he knew what was in there or he wouldn't even have wanted to try it...:) Jordan is great with trying things though and loves almost anything!
Last evening we had for supper...The heart from the steer!! I crock potted it most of the day and threw some onions, sweet potatoes in with it about noon. We had freshly picked peas and other veggies. I only ate a teeny bit of the heart. It was good but I'm trying to drastically cut back my meat intake. The kids liked it...:)
We are invited to Amy's pond again this evening for more fishing! Everyone who helped sponsor the event is invited to come for fishing this evening. Jordan is so excited and he was saying all day how he just can't wait for tonight!
Tomorrow I plan to take sister Kath to her baby appointment. We plan to do a little shopping along the way for the last minute baby items!! I can't believe we are almost here already!! (Seems like forever to you Kath, I no the feeling!) Baby is due in a short few weeks and they expect her to go early! She has to be watched very closely and they do ultrasound every week to monitor the babies growth. If the baby gets to a certain size they will induce her because having babies naturally is very difficult for Kath, it needs to be a very small baby if she wants to deliver naturally! We are so excited for another baby in the family!! Can't wait to meet this little one! Plus... They have the most adorable babies!!
Speaking of new babies... We have another baby on the way!! It might as well be considered family as well...~! We are so excited for this new baby to!!
Danny and Rachel Ann are due to have a baby in December! And NO I do not plan to lose my Rachel Ann!! We just plan to add a member to our family and we are so excited about it!!...:) People ask all the time..." What will you do without Rachel Ann??" The plan is now, to let Grandma Louise watch the baby on Friday's. I'm sure this baby will be more then welcome to come along as well but Grandma Louise wants an excuse to babysit...:)
I'm sure things will change some but for the most part I'm not losing my helper just adding to it...:)
A few weeks ago when I was cleaning out the attic I got to just transfer some things straight to Rachel Ann's for the new baby. She will use the bassinet I used for Javon and my Dry Sink is going to her house as well! I'm glad she gets to use some of the things so I still get to see them. She got some baby clothes to. Some of the things she got hold memories for her because she had Javon so much as a baby!! I tell her she is totally ready for Motherhood with no training necessary!! She has already had all she needs and beyond...:)
Congratulations Danny and Rachel Ann!! You will make amazing parents and your baby is so blessed to have you chosen for the job of "training and raising" him/her up in a Godly, Loving home!! We will love this child as we did our own because that's what you have done for our children!! I guess my kids are OK to share you now that they are older and not needing as much care from you...:) Many Blessings sent your way!!
Being parents is the best!!... This is a daily prayer of mine that you might want to keep handy for future use...:)
I'm off to another fishing party...:)
Have a blessed evening...
