We are still studying the book of Daniel and we enjoy all the insights we get from everyone in the class. Our class is great! Today I was asked to teach a children's class in the basement and was a tad disappointed that I had to miss the adult class. Then it just happened that there was no children there in the age group that I was asked to teach, so I got to sit in on the adult class after all. I do love the children's classes in the basement and I have taught children's class for a number of years but there is something about the adult classes that I love!
We had a few rain showers here today already and I'm hoping we get more still! It seems the 90 degree heat the past few days has dried things up a lot! It is also cooling down some and more like 70's & 80's now. My garden needs more water then I can give it these days! My flowers as well! We are trying to get the pool filled up and it is really cutting back our water supply elsewhere!! We have been trying to get it filled since Tuesday now and are still only halfway there! I think we have a weak well and the fish pond and dry weather are just adding to it. Once the pool is full it is usually able to catch up and is fine but the pool takes a lot from our well every Spring.
Our week-end was fun so far. Dave and I had a fun breakfast with mentor/friends on Friday morning. Dave took the boys to a graduation Friday evening while I stayed home with the Little's and we had the campfire all ready for the guys when they returned...:) Saturday morning Dave and I went out on a small job and then went to a fish hatchery to get some fish for our fish pond. It really helps with the algae problem when we have lots of fish!
We stopped and got a new toy for the kids!... They were delighted when we came home with this thing!! Only the Little's get to ride it though, the big guys need to use the big wheeler. We don't get the kids big things for birthdays, they normally only get to choose the supper meal and go on a Daddy date but then we do things like this every once in awhile and it all comes out in the end...:)
Dave had a blast teaching them how to ride it and introducing it to them! Thanks Daddy!!!
We picked up the parachute plane to which was getting a service. So now we will be watching Dave take off again on nice Summer evenings. He plans to do a candy drop at a neighborhood fund raiser this week-end! I hope he still remembers how to fly the thing, it's been so long!
Yesterday afternoon we took the kids to a fun fund raiser at Paradise Park. They had fun and Dave and I did the 5K run they had organized. It was a very warm run with the temps into the 90's!! It was a full sun course and I was ready to see the finish! I forgot to look at my time...? I think it was somewhere between 25-27 minutes? I got a trophy for second overall female to finish...
There were about 75 runners out on the roads in the heat! It was fun to have Sister Marilyn and Sam join in on this run! Great job you guys!! I'm so proud to have a sister that runs!!
I have been gearing up to do this 7 ingredient cleanse this week... 7 ingredient three day detox-no fasting required cleanse. It does not sound hard yet when it comes down to it I'm sure it will put me to the test.
It's a cleanse meant for people who love food-real food, in it's purest state. It's also meant to aid the liver, our detox organ. Not making the liver process heavy, inflammatory or stressful foods and giving it a chance to rest. I think of it as a mini retreat from food...:) While most fresh produce has natural cleansing properties this plan focuses on a handful of all-star ingredients... Blueberries, spinach, beets, broccoli, and avocado then lentils and nuts for protein. You can use olive oil and some spices as well. After the three days it's important to try to read the body and recognize how certain food make us feel.
I have been going without meat now for a few days and trying to eat all real food in preparation for this cleanse. I can already tell that dairy products make my throat feel full of mucus, soon after I eat dairy I have junk in my throat! I think we would be amazed if we really knew how our bodies work and how we stress them with the foods we eat!
I love this...
I really want to discover how to get my body to feel the way God designed it to feel. It is a journey and small steps are great! Every small step we take over time will become something great!
I will post my cleanse journey,to let you all know how it goes and what I'm eating. It seems like there are some creative ways to eat these seven ingredients and I really do eat and love all seven of them already, but... I still like coffee and something sweet everyday so it will challenge me I'm sure!
Not sure when I will start? We have a dinner banquet tomorrow evening so it will most likely be Tuesday-Thursday.
Be a blessing to someone today...
