Kindergarten Day For Javon!!

My baby went to Kindergarten!!

He was so excited about today! He has friends in his class that he was excited to go to school with!

The morning went better then yesterday. I got up earlier and I was much better prepared by the time the kids came to the kitchen where breakfast was served. I just have to remember how this routine goes again...:) I remember now that I kind of liked it...:) Earlier starts always seem to bring about a more productive day...:)

My Little's both came down with poison ivy this morning. ~sigh~ Hard to tell where they got it since they spend almost all their minutes a day outdoors. Jenika had it on her hand and her neck and Javon caught it on his neck and his left eye. This stuff is such a pain and we have never gone a full summer without being affected by this annoying weed!

Javon will go to Linville Hill for Kindergarten. We felt like he was ready for more then what our school had to offer. With him going to Preschool three days last year (only half days) it seemed like going back to two days was not going to be enough for him,  I remember last year he would wake up and say "Is today a school day?" He loved his school days and the days he did not go he would ask me over and over again "Is it time for the kids to come home yet?" Jenika drills the poor guy so hard at home on school work that he is practically reading already. We did check into testing him for first grade at our school but it was not an option since he has a December birthday. He knows math facts like I can't believe, all the letter sounds, he sounds out words, and he can count until I have to finally just stop him. I hope he stays smart in school. I know he will thrive at Linville Hill.

Will we put him back to Fairhaven for first grade? We don't know yet? Justin is in high school now and he says "Mom just keep him at Linville." We will pray about it. As of this year we will see how it goes being involved at three different schools...:)

Javon will ride the bus starting next week. We are still checking into it but he and Justin might actually be able to ride the same bus to school. We hope to get the details on this soon. Justin would take care of Javon so well and I'd love if they could ride the bus together...:)

People ask... "What will you do with your time?" I don't know yet. I have yet to feel bored when all of them are in school. Actually time just flies and I feel like I can never get enough done during the school hours! I will miss the kids company and the quiet house feels so strange today. I have laundry going and yard work to do. This place keeps me so busy and I'm never bored around here! I hoed all my flowerbeds this week and spent an hour in the fish pond cleaning up the corners and gathering the dead leaves up. I can tell the next season is coming and this will keep me stepping to. I do love to work outside here! It's more like a hobby then a chore most days.

I do plan to get involved in some more things as the Autumn season approaches. Canning has waited longer this year simply because I want to research Jordan friendly stuff and I knew I will have time to do this when school starts, now I just need to get motivated to get it researched and started...:)

Jordan is excited to expand his diet again! We made him a buckwheat pancake for breakfast with fresh peaches and a drizzle of maple syrup! He thought it was the best!! We are slowly doing some rice and we have a bread he can have made from "bean flour" It's the best thing that has happened here concerning our food journey in the past few days!! Everyone likes this bread! I'm so excited to use this as "our"  new bread. It's actually practically healthy! I can't give you the recipe since I don't have it, only one bakery makes it that we know of. A women that has a child with Celiac. She owns a bakery in Lititz and makes this bread, but only once a week. The demand is high and this bakery is not sure what the next step is as they can hardly keep after the demands for this bread! Jordan LOVES it! I would love to make my own one day! This is only one of the great results of the gluten/food sensitivity gatherings we have had this past summer. If you want more info come to my food gatherings starting in September...:)

Have a great day!! I'm off to pick up Javon... I can't wait to hear all about his day...;)
