Freedom....

Freedom.... What is freedom?? Freedom to worship, Freedom to love and be loved, Freedom can be looked at in many ways!! Lets remember all those that gave there lives for our Freedom as Americans this forth of July! Thank you Lord that we have the freedom to worship you freely!

We are rain free so far today!! It seems we have been having so much rain the past weeks it has come as a surprise to have a rain free day today...:)

The Little's have enjoyed the pool so much today already and even when the rain showers were around they didn't mind swimming in those to...:)

We are packed up for our Zook family vacation. The older boys get to enjoy one more day at camp then we head off to New York to meet up with the rest of the clan after the camp closing program. The five hour drive is nothing to be desired but it will be worth it I'm sure.

The yard is mowed, flowerbeds got a good hoeing, after all those rains everything kept washing out. I gave the van a good scrub this morning to! The kids do a super job with the weekly cleaning of the van but sometimes it just needs my touch to get the corners and details. The kids all have beds ready in the van, to sleep on the way up. I need to pack up food yet.

The food is always yummy on vacation...  I love how we all take a turn to do a day. Marilyn and I help each other with a breakfast, and a supper.  It goes so well that way. We plan to do an all out breakfast of... Sausage gravy, scrapple, eggs, pancakes, home fries, toast, fruit, and cereal and shoo fly pies to!! Our supper will be chicken on the grill with veggies and many more sides!! I found a recipe for Texas Roadhouse's cinnamon butter! I made that to serve with my homemade bread! We are looking forward to time away with the Zook family!!

Dave did the candy drop at camp last evening for the kids. (It was great to see the boys again!) It was a bit windy so we were delayed about an hour, but it went well and the kids were delighted to see the candy drop from the parachute plane! Jordan said he overheard a girl say... " Hey look!! The candy is falling down from that "Thinga Macbobber!!"  He got a huge kick out of that one!...)

Justin rode along to drop the candy. With the wind up a little I was a bit nervous to have two of my special guys up there, but Justin thrives on challenging adventures so he loved every minute of the bumpy ride with his Dad! I picked him up at camp and we met Dave and the plane in a farmers field down the road a ways where they took off from. They dropped the candy in two shots and then went back to the field for landing.

Dave and I along with the Little's met the campers at there camp fire after the candy drop and packing up the parachute. It was a great time of fired up worship singing from the guys with guitars and the kids all raised there voices to join in the worship singing! It was so cool! I had goose bumps from watching them lift hands and voices to our Lord!!

Dave then shared in a neat devotional... A few of his comments...
"Being Yourself" Of all the places and times God could have chose, He chose to put you here in this place at this time. Now. For his purpose!

You might think What can I do?? I'm only one person but God chose David, he was one of the best Kings that ever lived. Yet when God chose him he was the least of his family! His family never even presented him when the prophet Samuel came there to choose a King!

Make the most of every phase in your life, don't wish to be older, bigger or faster, those things will come then all to soon you will be looking back wishing you had enjoyed the journey more.

Don't wish this life was easier, just pray that you will get better.

Your choices and decisions are what will define you. You will have to live with them. Make wise Godly choices.

You young people have a clean slate... You are like an open book and you get to write that book!!

Very interesting! I loved to see the kids so attentive and loving life!! What a blessing to have such a great place to send them for 4-5 days! Summer camp is great!! Thanks so much to all of you who have worked so hard to get this all worked out for these kids!! You all truly have an amazing gift!

I took the boys for there laundry (individually) last evening while we were there, (needs to be packed right back up!)  I got to see the sleeping quarters and talk to them about there week... Justin was first... He said "My days are awesome!!" We are doing lots of exciting stuff!! Smoking out buildings and going in for the rescue! Finding a wounded man in the woods and carrying him back on a stretcher! (just acting) Zip line and water polo!! He was full of excitement about his camp days!!

I then took Jordan for his laundry, so I got to see his sleeping quarters as well... I ask him how his week is going?  I see a bottom lip begin to quiver!~?  No tears, but they were there in his voice. He said it's been OK.  He said he is hardly able to get any sleep with the group he is with!
He likes his space,  I guess sleeping time came and he was so tired, but the rowdy bunch just stayed wired till well past midnight! Then up at the crack of dawn already starting the day with pillow fights!

He was enjoying the daytime activities of Zip line, team challenge, and water polo just like Justin. But at night he was beat and done playing!...Yet couldn't rest..:) Torture was his word for it...:) I'm sure not that bad but he seems hesitant about camp next year already!?

I'm sure the rowdy kids are just being kids and having a great time, but... you have to know Jordan. He needs his sleep to stay healthy and I think it was getting the best of him! His sleeping quarters to me when I walked in... (Mind you this is day number four)... It smelled like a mixture of musty dampness, pee, dirty laundry and it was so warm!  I told him on the spot..." Sure you can come home to sleep" I'll bring you back in the morning...:) I'm not ungrateful, and it was totally fine and camp like, but to have him begging to come home and sleep... If I was going to make him stay, I changed my mind after I toured his sleeping quarters...:) He showered last night here after we got in and slept until nine o'clock this morning! He is now better ready for New York!! Got to take the good with the bad at camp I guess??

I had a talk with him this morning then. I told him camp is good for his character. It puts him to the test... He was so mad at some of the annoying kids who just wouldn't rest. I told him life is like that in the real world,  we need to learn to love anyway.. "Not spray them with bug spray!" (like he was doing to try to get them to be quiet!) He is a kid with a huge heart but get him annoyed and he will let you see his other side to...:) All in All I'm sure he would say camp is a blast!! It's just learning to deal with people and we all have that test from time to time... Thanks again to the camp staff for your huge heart for these kids! Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus and showing so much LOVE this week!!

Happy forth of July!! We are coming your way Zook clan...  We will miss you tremendously Dave and Rose and kiddo's!!! It seems like we just need to see you again and catch up on life!! It does seem long now! I'm sure you are thinking so to, yet in another way has it already been a year?? Wow!! Blessings to you all in Africa!! We will try not to have to much fun without you all...:)
I'm off to prepare for vacation...  Have a blessed Week-end!
