The pool is here and ready for set up as soon as the weather clears. (yes the five of us won:}) Justin is home today and after not having him with us over the week-end it's great to have him home this morning. At the moment he is tearing it up with Jen and Javon in Jen's room!:) They really did miss him and his rowdiness...;) I'm hoping to send him out to set up the pool later. He spent the whole week-end here and there because he really has nobody his age when we go with this crew to the cabin, and plus it was a big ballgame week-end around home. He spent one night with my parents, one night with Dave's parents (thanks PJ!) and one night with his great friend Davy!:) He loved the action packed week-end around home!
Jordan is sitting on the couch for the past few hours and still has a few to go... It's "Antibody" day for him. His allergies were a bit flared up at the cabin over the week-end but not like other years. He has also learnt to keep shades tightly tucked around his eyes while on the golf cart or four wheeler it really helps his eye issues!.
I had to wake him this morning because Susie (the nurse) was coming early. During the Summer months we do these early in the morning so they are done for the day. We are loving the no school schedule here this morning by the way!!! Justin and Jenika slept until almost lunch time!! Not something they will do all Summer but I let them catch up today...:)
Dave and I never made it in until past 11 o'clock last night! The Moonlight Run was fun with a large crowd! They had the group split into pace level groups... A ten minute pace that left first, then twelve minutes later they sent out the nine minute pacers, then twelve minutes after that they sent out the eight minute pacers.
I'm normally in the eights somewhere on my runs so Dave talked me into waiting on his eight minute group. Sadie was with me and the group was fast and running more in the sevens somewhere! It was a to fast start for me and I was soon falling behind. Sadie and I ended up taking a short cut and shaved off a mile of the nine mile run. We rounded a corner and met up with the nine minute pacers, that went better for the last part of the run...:) I do not like evening runs though! I thought I was going to throw up on the way home! I do not like to have food in my stomach and be worn out from the day before starting a long run!!
We did a fun run at the cabin on Sunday morning. Five of us hit the trail and got a good five miler in. It feels better to keep up the excersise when eating all the extra calories on a week-end like this!
Dave and I got out to walk on the other mornings. I love it that we are active together! The kids are in a fun stage that gets us out alone together more... running and hiking has become something we both enjoy more and more. It helps that the benefits are endless...
Our garden really took off while we were gone! We have strawberries ready but the birds have discovered them to!! We have great looking berries but with bites taken out! Guess I need to get bags out there or a scarecrow!...:( the peas are hanging and the kale, lettuce and spinach are looking great! I like to take a few hard boiled eggs to the garden on a plate and then pick things to eat with them. Kale, spinach and radishes are great with hard boiled eggs and picking fresh from my garden is so much fun...:)
A few cute garden quotes...
Our Memeorial Day Week-end fun included... Campfires, (even during the day due to chilly weather!:)) Great games, Food, Creek Adventures, Golf Cart, Four Wheeler, Treasure Hunt for the kids!! Many laughs!! Some ending in tears!! Classic Music under the shade tree while grilling, Deep Discussions, Sharing each others hearts... The list goes on and on and to put a price tag on these week-ends would be impossible!! Thanks guys for another great year at the cabin!! We love hosting you all!! This was the sixth year with this group on this week-end and it keeps getting better,,,!:)
Some fun pictures captured...
Dave giving four wheeler rides...
A treasure hunt put on by Martha Rose... The kids had nine clues to find which led them to a treasure chest full of prizes! They each got to pick something! That was a huge highlight for them!! Thanks for always remembering the children Mart!! Even if it was windy... they still loved it!!

We always look forward to Jr Roses Steaks and Dutchy Jr.'s chicken from the grill!!... The smells are amazing as these guys are grilling! The guys just set up chairs around the grill...:)
These two have a soft spot for each other... I think it's so cute the way Ava loves Jordan! She often sits with him and acts like she just adores him! He loves loving on her to... She fell asleep on his lap one time and he comforted her when she got stung by a bee...:)
Most of the kiddos... The golf cart is still able to carry most of them at once!! Jordan and Hadassah were the responsible drivers when the smaller ones wanted along... Not sure what's going on with the guys in the back ground?? Either Jr. Rose needed his back scratched or Dutchy Jr. is reading the writing on his shirt...:)
It has been so much fun to watch these children grow up over the years as we were coming up here. It's fun to compare one year to the next... Many of them were coming up here as babies and watching them grow and enjoy this trip makes it all so worth it!...:) They get as excited as the adults as this time of year approaches...:)
Martha Rose again thinking of the kids... Giving out candy buttons. "Oh my" I guess it is vacation!
Jenika got stung by a bee on her toe Saturday night. Not sure what it is about my three oldest but when they get stung it really swells, gets hot and tight to! Her poor toe looked deformed at one point! She was hardly walking on it and did not enjoy her last two days hobbling around trying to join in the fun the best she could. She also did not sleep the best with waking every few hours with pain in her foot!
The whole crew of kiddos after a fun few hours exploring at the creek...
I have come to love these Ladies and there families more and more... Thanks Ladies for all the great talks and times we have shared over the years! You and your families all have a special place in our hearts!
Thank God for the special people in your lives! Life is a journey and sharing it with friends makes the way so much more enjoyable!...:)
Feeling Blessed Today...
