Sitting down with a cup of coffee at this hour is not my style at all but I just feel like it's that kind of evening...:) Dave is out playing ball with the kids to get rid of any left over energy. I can't believe anybody has any left cause I sure don't!:) Yard sales are work!! I think I had my last one for awhile!
This morning I awoke at 4:45 to light rain. I went back to bed but could not sleep. I lay there thinking of all the things I will need to set up and I really wanted to get rid of my stuff. I got up, got some things together then Jordan and I headed over soon after 5 o'clock with our second big load of stuff! We even had a small picnic table on the roof!
Jordan and I started the set up right away. The rain had stopped and even though it was a bit chilly and cloudy it didn't rain again until I was pulling out the drive with the leftover stuff packed back into lugs again. I made a trip to the local "reuse it shop" with my leftover clothes.
I had so many clothes to deal with! It is hard to organize clothes at a yard sale. I just layed things out and it didn't seem like people felt like digging to much. More things sold as I was hanging them up, they seemed to go better that way. I had two large van loads there (with all the seats down in my van, pretty roomy!) and I left with not a full load. I was happy to have gotten rid of that much...:) Many there were my blog readers...:) It was good to meet some of you! Sometimes I wish I would know who exactly all follows us, but I don't unless you comment...:) I think I would have made out just as good or better to just blog it then have you all come to my garage...:) Next time!
The weather patterns have been crazy here the past few days! The rains came hard at lunch time today yet the sun kept coming out! When the sun did come out it was bright and very warm and pleasant! It made for a very muddy/grassy day in my house! The kids did not stay indoors because of the rain! This was them when it was raining it's hardest today!!.. Mark was here to join in the fun...:)
They soaped the trampoline with dish soap to and had a sliding party!! They played ball in underwear in the rain!! It's not that warm and they make me cold looking at them but they were having a blast! Jenika even joined in and she has a cold to! This was my Little's trying to get warm after they came in one time...
I was folding wash and they came in shivering! I told them to wash feet and go take a bath but the boys had the showers, so they made feet washing an "everything washing"...:) They took a bath three times since lunch!
The four wheeler is a highlight around here since Jordan has learned to drive it! It takes a kick start and has a clutch, so there is a trick to it, he almost had it last Summer but needed help to start it. Now that he has that figured out the Little's are loving his rides! I had to learn to let go and and let them have fun. They have strict orders to drive slow and easy when they have a passenger. They took it out across the corn field last evening and it ran out of gas! They had to walk back for gas, then they couldn't start it and had to walk back again. Dave then took his truck out there to get it last night and his truck is now stuck in the field! They all three had to ride the four wheeler back in the pouring rain last night! The thing came into the garage VERY MUDDY!! It took some scrubbing to get that all washed out! It was being tracked into the house to so I had floors to clean indoors as well!
After dealing with yard sale stuff and being up so early I just wanted to crawl into bed with a good book and sleep the rest of the day! But... the laundry was piled high, (wet dirty kids changing clothes every hour!) they were also hungry, the house needed attention and they were all living it up out in the rain. Who could possibly sleep with all that going on~?...:) I was chasing after them with an umbrella snapping pictures! It looked like a blast!:) I guess that's why I just drink coffee this time of day today...:) I even did an energy booster juice late this afternoon to! I juiced... red cabbage, spinach, carrots, an apple and a small slice of ginger. It was good but because Dave did a run I gave him most of it. I didn't have energy to run with him!!:)
As I'm typing I can hear Dave absolutely roaring with laughter off in the distance somewhere!!! I must believe he is on the phone with Mike Lapp!! He laughs with nobody else the way he does when he's with Mike or talking to Mike!! I love how Dave has such a great friendship with Mike! The two never run out of things to talk about!! Lori... is Mike laughing on your end..??:)
I'm off to spend the rest of the evening being cozy with Dave and the kids... Or maybe just the Little's since Dave and the boys started a game of "Cash Flow" this game looks very complicated and I'm amazed that the boys understand it, but they love it and have been looking forward to playing this all week! Dave tells them "week ends" are game nights and they love it that they get to stay up later.
I kept thinking as I was packing up my yard sale stuff... the next time I'm just going to take this stuff straight to the Reuse It Shop!! But then I was thinking of all the people I met and talked to today, shared a smile or a hug with. I saw this quote and it fit perfect for what I was thinking... If I had done that then I wouldn't have met so many wonderful people today...:)
Have a blessed evening...
