Hanging on to Summer!

We are trying to hang on to our Summer days!! The birds have changed there song, the pool has many leaves falling into it,  we are seeing the signs of Fall... BUT we are not sure we are ready to let our Summer go... The weather sure has been amazing this Summer,  I don't think I ever remember another one like this! We never got the dry brown grass or the yard work break that makes our Summer really feel like Summer!...:) The rains and cooler temps have made for a busy upkeep outdoors this Summer, yet it was fun because going to the pool or the park just wasn't to often even desirable.

I did a ten mile run this morning. I sure was glad for the fog that hung around so long because it would have been really warm to run without it. (since I didn't start as early as I like:}) I'm trying to take advantage of this week's morning runs,  I know it will need to change over to afternoons next week once we have our school schedule back.

My morning protein shake after the ten miles... Blueberry, banana and Mercola protein powder is whats in it... It was enjoyed on the back porch in the sun...:)

Justin was making waffles for breakfast when I got back from running...:) He had blended together... bananas, blueberries, peanut butter and honey and used this for the topping, it was actually pretty good when I took a lick to taste...:)

I had the "Princess of our home" out school shopping this morning. The boys get a turn yet this week to but she gets tired of shopping really fast so I just took her for a quick trip today and the boys can take there time a little more on there day...:)

She was fun to take out alone, we listened to an old story tape on the road "Ernie Gets Lost" I listened to it when I was her age! She loved it and didn't want to get out of the car once we arrived because her story wasn't over yet...:)

She now has her school supplies to enter first grade!! How can she be ready to sit in school everyday?? She seems to much of a busy body for this but I'm sure she will love it. It sure will be a HUGE change for both of us!!

The canning is at a stand still for the rest of the week so I can enjoy my kids at home this week yet...:) I did some chicken soup yesterday (38 quarts) and made some cookies. Now we enjoy these warm Summer days we are being blessed with! The canning will wait...:)

We sure do enjoy our campfire pit all Summer long and this is probably the thing we miss the most in the Winter months!!... We have a campfire on the back porch many nights... Jordan put some of his fish on the fire pit the other evening and him and Dave enjoyed five of these things!!
I had a few bites but I had fun watching them enjoy them mostly...
Justin made the smores indoors to eat after the fish... I love Summer nights like this!!

I just snapped these pictures... They are trying to swim because I threaten to put the pool away if they are not going to use it... The water is cold and swimming is just not as fun in cold water! Maybe by next week this thing will be in the box for the Winter...

Swimming in her panies again...~sigh~

Poor Jen has no idea she is about to be bopped in the head with an inflatable bat!! Her life with three brothers is rough on her at times but she sure can take care of herself as feisty as she is... God sure gave her the perfect personality to be a sister to three brothers!!

We are off to the Chiropractor... Still going faithfully once a week!

Enjoy the last few weeks of Summer... Especially the warm 90 degrees stuff that is coming our way!!
