Here We Go...

Yesterday was three hundred ears of corn and fifteen gallons of tomato juice day. I'm happy to have these two now crossed of my long list of things to can/freeze!

I had the tomato juice going in the kitchen and the corn in the side yard on the cookers so I was racing from one slop to the next getting these two banged out in one day. The Little's of course had there hands in everything along the way! Tomatoes went flying across the kitchen floor and splattered a few times as they were throwing them at each other!! I had a fun day with them doing this and the weather was so perfect to set up the corn tables in the sun!

There version of helping... She throws it to him then he throws it in the sink full of water for washing!!...:)

The finished product all ready for soups...

cooling the corn...

I started the corn in the afternoon and canceled the chiropractor for another evening this week so I could get this completed. Dave came home from work and after his three mile run he helped me finish...:) Not our typical Monday night but it was fun...:) I now have sixty six, two cup, bags of corn in the freezer for soups that I will get to later. We rarely eat just corn plain but it goes great in soups and fresh off the cob is just the best!!

This was our fun Sunday evening with friends... We always enjoy getting together with this group of friends and Javon was especially excited to hang out with Ty and Derek again!!

The meal of "Trash can" supper was amazing as always!!
Dump it on Matt...:)

The little ones so enjoying this meal...;) They think it's great that they can just dig in with hands!!
The day was breezy and only in the 70's which was lovely, but the swimming part had the kids teeth chattering most of the time!!

Thanks Matt and Marlene for hosting this crowd again this Summer. We always look forward to it!! Next year I'll try to bring two cheesecakes...:) Remember the cheesecake in the last post?? It got devoured and so did a batch of cookies!! I think the adults were more impatient then the kids until Marlene had the dessert out! Sorry Marlene that we had so little manners over dessert!:) It made for some great laughs though!!...:)

Today I'm catching up from yesterday's busyness... We now have the juice away in the basement for future use. Dave had his birthday treat delivered to the shop. Piles of laundry got washed and folded, The guys made it home for breakfast this morning, which had me steppin until they were out the door again...:) ~Whew~ It's a treat when they come home for breakfast every once in a while but I don't think I'd make a farmers wife who do it every day!  I got a six and a half mile run in early this morning to...We have school fall cleaning taking place today. Who wants to think about school???!!!:) Beans are picked from the garden!! Lots and Lots of them!! (They are being frozen for now and will go in veggie soup later)
Sister Kath and her kiddos graced us with there presence for about an hour... I got to hold the sweet baby boy again!!...So DARLING!!

We are anticipating a short family vacation coming up so packing needs to be done, yard work again... (We are blessed with thick lush green grass that needs a mowing twice a week still!) Cleaning, shop picnic this week to!! I guess it is August so HERE WE GO!!! I just need to remind myself to breath and ride the wave...:)

I saw this quote this morning and I thought I'll stick it on my phone home screen after August is over...:)
Have a BLESSED Day...
