A SURPRIZE Snow Day...

This morning when I posted the snow pictures from the past days I really had no idea that we were about to get more snow! What a surprise I had! I rarely follow the weather forecast so these things come up on me every now and then!... I just take what comes and most times I like it that way...:)

After I posted this morning I went down to start my bread and I realized I was out of bread flour! I really (thought) I needed to bake bread today so I decided to make a quick trip to Dutch-Way for flour before the kids are off to school. They were all still asleep so off I went. I got to the garage and saw the new snow coming down really really fast! I figured oh well it can't be that bad it just started! I made it a few miles and decided it's not worth it and turned around! I was beginning to really slip and slide and bread flour was not worth wrecking my van over!

I told Dave I will have him breakfast ready if he brings me bread flour...:) Thanks Hon!!

School was canceled for the day due to snow!! Jenika slept till nine o'clock! What a beautiful day it was!! The snow was clinging to everything and it was so pure white!

I'm not always to sure about these snow days though. With Kath's Little's here plus helping mine it was more putting on and off winter gear all day it seemed then anything else! By the time I had the last one suited up (out of the four) the one I suited up first was already coming back in wet and cold!...":) (so it seemed:))

They spent time outdoors every now and then to give me a breather, I kept cleaning up a bit while they were having outdoor time, they would then come back in to get more stuff out. (or even the same stuff again!:)) The games are still laying about, the clothes are drying on the vents for at least the tenth time today, (tons of them!) the laundry piles are waiting to be put into drawers and every single room in this big house needs my attention to some degree but it was a great snow day with the kids! Tomorrow is another day so clean ups can wait, the snow melts but the messy house won't, even though there are times I wish the mess would vanish just like the snow...:)

Leanna loves time with Jenika so Jen's day off today was a bonus for sure!...
We gathered together snow gear for the Smoker kiddos! I was happy to find Austin's size in my box! They are pink on the inside but they kept him nice and dry and he had no idea nor did he care that they were pink... He had to put up with flowery gloves to...:)

Austin loved the wheeler rides Justin gave him! When the four wheeler was running he was right there every time! He was so brave to! Once he fell off the sled and Justin didn't realize till he was a ways off and Austin was running down the field waving his arms...:) He was so cold and finally I just had to make him come inside! He was half froze looking but still loving it!!...

Tell me he don't look froze!!??
It's winter for sure now!! We play many games here every evening we are home!! These are a few favorites (or were before we learnt the "Dice" game at Matt's the other evening! now that's all we play) Three out of these six games (plus a few more!) are all over the floor in different rooms of the house as I now type! They are needing to be picked up and organized! The kids are out in the snow even in the dark right now playing some kind of ball?, Maybe I will need them home for another day tomorrow just to recover from the snowy day today!??...:)

Justin had his "Birthday Date" with his Dad this evening finally! It wasn't getting done and they made tonight work... Chili's was the place to eat. It looked like fun and as they both showered and headed out the door I couldn't help but wish I could just drop everything and go with! An hour out after a day like today would have been therapy to my soul but I trudged on and just took nice pictures, smiled and waved good bye...!~:} I came back inside and bathed four little kiddo's, cleaned up kitchen for what seemed like the 100th time today, hung up more wet clothes and no I'm not whining just saying...;) Gotta love snowy days like these...:)  I think I will really need a ten mile run to recover from this one!!!...:) Maybe I will just go out and join the ballgame for my fresh air! I'm off to see if they need another person...:)

Have a Blessed evening... Tonight I'm Thankful for... "SNOW DAYS" "A MESSY WARM HOME" "FED FOR THE DAY KIDS" "LATE  DAY COFFEE" "GAMES" "PAINTS THAT ARE WASHABLE" "KIDS THAT LOVE THE OUTDOORS" "WARM BATHS" "SQUABBLING KIDS" (means they are normal) #extrabadtoday AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST "MY BED!"
