We are spending the night in Punta Gorda. We enjoyed a slow start this morning with a walk on the beach early, breakfast and bike rides with the kids, we just walk and walk places!! The Little's get tired at times but they are enjoying the adventure for the most part.
Jordan is loving the water and he saw eight star fish and some crabs along the beach this morning. We had a cute apartment type place, only a one bedroom but they had a pull out sofa and they brought another cot type bed so it was perfect for us and the water was hot which I soaked up! The shower head was broken though so we had to kind of sit low and let the water run over...:) It felt better then standing in a cold shower anyway...:)
The sun shone more today and after the two and a half hour drive to Punta Gorda today we spent some time in the sun at the pool here on the property. This town is a little more run down looking and driving into town today we felt uncertain about what the place we were going to find to sleep might be like? It turned out that a place had a nice two bed room for just one night, which is how long we planned to stay anyway. They again brought a cot type bed and we also have a couch so it's perfect again...:) So far this not having a place booked is working out fine...:) Dave and I are at the pool porch both online at the moment. The kids are right up from us in the room chilling with showers and we have a TV!! They are thrilled...:) Today was the first for any TV!
We stopped at a small chocolate factory today on the way here. We sampled some fresh cocoa beans and bought some fresh "healthy" dark chocolate.
We have a fishing boat trip lined up for the morning here in Punta Gorda. We plan to be on the water by seven o'clock then whatever we catch they will cook up and serve it with rice for our lunch before we leave tomorrow afternoon...:) Gotta keep moving!!
So we check out of our room early in the morning already and spend the morning fishing and sunning on a nearby island, then we head off back towards Belize city so we will be closer to where we need to be to catch the islands by Monday and Tuesday. We also need to drop off the rental vehicle there.
Monday we plan to be on the island of Caye Caulker then on Tuesday to Ambergris Caye. We plan to be on that island seven days Mom...:) We are looking forward to settling in on the island!! Jordan is so excited to fish more there and I know what it's like there, I know they will love it! We are hoping to be over our stomach gurgles by the time we get there. It is getting better everyday!:)
We had a great supper this evening. Fish and rice and beans...:) A few quasedias to. It was all so yummy and we were very impressed! The Little's shared a dish of pasta and chicken. Jenika thought she was back home and she was in her glory! We started to carry our "Dice" and play while we wait for our food! Even the Little's join and time goes so much faster! Sometimes we get a whole game in before the food comes out!:)
Jordan had to shed a tear when we stopped at a bakery on the way back and sampled some papaya cake and cookies for dessert. He could not taste and he was not impressed. (the one evening he had flour tortilla with his burrito because they didn't have corn and he woke with open sores on his skin!! So we are trying to be careful about flour!!) I had a talk with him on the porch but his passion for food will make this so difficult at times! He did have some chocolate so he was okay.
Thanks for your prayers as we travel! Good Night!
