Fun Night With FRIENDS...

It feels more like spring today! We are happy to see most of our driveway again as the snow melts away. Green grass is on the way and we are excited for this next season that is coming.

The pond guy was here today cleaning out the fish pond and getting it ready for another season as well. The fish were under ice most of the winter other then the small hole that was created by the pond heater. There is still a solid block of ice inside where the pumps are to go so we have to wait for a bit more melting before we can run the pumps. I can't wait to hear the waterfalls splashing again through my open windows!

We had a fun night out last evening with friends! We have been talking about doing something like this for a long time now and we just finally did it...:) This group of friends is such a blast and we never tire of being together! This is normally a big crowd to host at one of our homes when all the kiddos are along so we don't get together as much as we did at one time but when we do it's still so much fun! This night was especially fun going as couples and leaving the kids with sitters for tonight..:)

This was our ride...! We had as much fun on the ride to and from dinner then we did at dinner!...

This is where we ate...
It's a great place to eat but especially great if you are a meat lover! Dave is always delighted with this place because they offer so many different fine cuts of meat! He is a meat guy!! If you never ate here the experience is worth checking out! The salad bar is unique to and so yummy with different styles of cheese and veggies.

The ride was of course the highlight of the night even though me and my motion sickness never really enjoy this part to much...:/ I get over it but I have this yucky feeling that comes from being jerked this way and that while riding sideways in the back of a dark vehicle...

Yes it got pretty crazy at times to!...:)

This is that group of friends that just brings out the kid in us all when we are together! I hope you have a group of friends like this because life is to short not to! We talk about doing things together when we are old folks...:)

We missed you Jr and Lyn!

I told Dave after arriving home last night really late that somebody deserves a medal here at home to!! The Little's were bathed and in bed. The house was as tidy as ever, the kitchen was all cleaned up and to think they made and served supper and Jordan even tried his luck on some cookies that didn't turn out...:) They didn't turn out the best but it sounded like they had a good laugh while trying to mix the dry cookie batter together!!

These big boys of mine amaze me these days! How did they grow up so fast?? I'm thrilled that they are my Little's best babysitters when Dave and I do a date night! I'm thrilled that they have taken an interest in the kitchen and create such yummy food. I've liked to think of these younger years with my children as a training process right? Well they are now used to the way we live, the way eat, the way we like our house tidy (mom anyway) and the way we go to bed and the bedtime routine that comes along with this. They don't need me so much anymore. In a way it feels great in another way it's kind of sad... We are now talking cell phone contracts, youth groups and high school! It feels strange at times yet I love every minute of it to...:) The training process is not over for us but to see some of the fruits take shape that we have been nurturing is rewarding and fun.

I'm sure more fast runs get taken around the kitchen track then I would put up with when the big boys are in charge, I'm sure more balls bounce off the walls then I'd put up with before sending them to the basement but how great that the Little's get to hangout with big brothers and love it! They have some days that they do not appreciate the big boys in charge but for the most part it goes well. They were told if they all give a good report on the evening last night then they can all get a chance to invite a friend over for an afternoon/overnight and the next day, so they are already planning these events since the report came back on a positive note...:)

My five mile run was harder this morning with all that meat in my tummy but the temps are so much better now for running. I'm again getting used to my vibram five fingers (which create sore calf mussels at first) for the summer season. These are my best running shoes and I love the way they feel but they don't take socks and they are very thin so my feet would have froze on some of those winter runs!...:) I'm taking it slow but I'm anxious to get more miles on again.

Today we kind of struck out. Kath has been trying to plan a day to take the kids swimming at the New Holland Rec Center like we did last year. They loved it last year and we had been talking about doing it again this winter some time. Kath had today picked out so we planned it, got the swimmies on and all grabbed a towel after lunch to swim for a few hours. Well we get there and they tell us that the Rec Center has been taken over by YMCA and it now costs fifteen dollars per person no matter the ages! We were not about to spend that for a few hours of swimming since there were fourteen of us so we headed for home with some pretty upset kiddos!!

We stopped in to see uncle Allen then so they still got to play with each other at dads for an hour or so. Allen fell at work yesterday and he is very lucky to not be hurt worse then just being really stiff and sore! He was up on a deck and his post gave away sending him flying and landing on the frame of a stairway! His head and back took a hard beaten and he will be sore for awhile but he is thankful it wasn't worse....:) He was happy to see our clan coming to visit him...;)

I'm off to do some Saturday odds and ends...

Have a BLESSED week-end...
