Today we spent the day on the water. All day! We left at nine this morning and it was almost dark when we got back to the house. When I close my eyes it still feels like I'm rocking on the water!
Tony is our water activity guy. He has a big boat and he does a great job at what he does! Dave set the day up with Tony to pick us up here at MBV. Tom's and Curvin's joined us so we had sixteen people on board for this all day, fun day, exploring the crystal clear blue waters of Belize! The Little's love the boat and I had so much fun watching the excitement as we explored the water!
Javon was all in at the first stop already. The first stop was lobster diving and he was right there with the action with his snorkel gear on! He would holler when he saw a lobster take off! I could here him from the boat as he hollered through his gear under the water for someone to spear that lobster!! He would say "Good Job" and give a thumbs up to the guy that got the lobster! At the next stop "Shark Ray Alley" he again was all in, swimming with the sharks! it's for real like swimming in an aquarium! He was also out with the snorkel crew the entire time to! He loved it!! Jenika stuck closer to the boat even though she did venture out each time... just not as far out or as long as Javon. She was a bit scared and I was surprised it wasn't turned around with them...:)
Justin was great and stuck by Javon's side... It was to cute! Because of my ear issue I rarely get into the water but it's so much fun to watch the action from the boat!
Jordan was struggling a bit with a stomach issue before we even left this morning. He was throwing up over the boat soon after we got out this morning. He was so surprised to be "sea sick"! Dave thinks it was another bug and not "sea sick" since Jordan never struggled with this before. He took a pill that one of the ladies on board had and he soon felt better but he was tired and a bit out of it most of the day. It spited me to not see that adventurous sparkle in his eye (always there when he is fishing) today. Maybe next time Jordan!
My guys are the best lobster divers! We snagged eighty six lobsters today and I'm sure my guys came in with most of those! Jordan came in with three on his spear at one time once and Justin often came with two at a time! Dave is a pro by now and he was coaching the others a lot of the time.
We so enjoyed Tony's full blown cookout on the beach with this fresh lobster and also the red snappers we caught! He does potatos, veggies, beans, coleslaw and tortillas along with the fresh catch! He cooks it up on an open fire right on the beach! The kids were swimming and exploring on the beach as Tony cooked up the food. It's the best experience ever and Dave would never let you come visit Belize and not do this fun day out with Tony!...:)
Here are some pictures of our day... Tonight we are sun kissed once again and the kids are already asleep. They begged to be tucked in early!..:) Dave is chatting with his investor friend and he is enjoying it very much! We got a big bowl of lobster tails in the freezer that will last us awhile since Tony gave us the ones he didn't cook up. We are excited about this because Jordan hasn't been catching us to many fish yet and these can go a long ways when they are made "Belizian style" with the sides of rice, beans and tortillas.
What a fun day it was!...
The most adorable snorkeler ever!!
The beach where Tony cooked. Nobody else around for miles and miles!...:)
Jordan felt better after he ate. He was so hungry since he skipped breakfast!!
Justin showing Javon around under water! So cute!!
The rains came last night and cooled things down a bit. It is still very warm and we run air conditioners at night but it's more fun to have things a tad cooler. It's winter here and it's the best time of the year to be here! We are feeling blessed beyond words to have the opportunity to be a part of this growing village here at MBV. Dave is excited to get to work here tomorrow and we are meeting our school teacher in the morning. I can tell school will be good for the children again. We want to find the library. We located the bake shop, the meat store, Maria's produce market, and the super buy grocery outlet so we are getting it I think...:)
Marilyn... If you are on here and you get a chance show Tina this note from Jenika... She misses her lots!...:) She wanted me to email this but it wasn't going through. She didn't want everyone to see her note but I think it's so cute and worth passing on to you... We are excited to see you here in a few weeks!
Here are the lobsters I soaked in baking soda for a bit and then froze...
We are still in need of some containers, baggies and some other odds but we did get a crock-pot now and this will be great to have for rice, beans and to put supper in when we spend all day out of the house!
Our thoughts and prayers have been with the Ben and Anna family!! Ben battled cancer for a short time and all of the sudden he took a turn for the worst and passed away last night. They attend our church and Ben had a huge heart for Jordan and his health journey! He often let us know that he is praying for Jordan! We will miss him in church and I'm sure Anna will miss him terribly! We are so sorry for your loss Stoltzfus family and we feel so far away but we are sending prayers your way often!!
Good Night from Belize...
