Celebrate Spring!!

We are celebrating Spring today!! Even though it's still chilly and they are talking about some more snow flurries in the forecast at least the end is in sight!!:) It must get warmer here soon right?? I mean surely! Is God up there grinning as he is sending us these different weather patterns?? He must want to see what we make out of it!:)

I ordered some garden seeds online today and also picked some up at the green house last week. I'm excited to get the garden worked up and planted! We got fifteen new chickens which will soon be laying us eggs.

Today was the day that the Little's and I made and delivered hot lunch to the boys. Jordan got to choose the menu first and he chose... Well here is the menu he wrote down...:)
I can tell this will be fun for them and also for me...;) Wish I had started it sooner... advantage to living three minutes from school...;)
We juiced lemons for the lemonade, made boneless chicken and pasta then a fancy brownie sundae for dessert. Justin had made brownies for these the other evening when the rest of us were at the Chiropractor. (He got to stay home from the gym because he had just run three miles:))

Dave is off to the sunshine state! I'm so jealous yet as I was packing up his bags I was glad I didn't have to pack up more and leave here when we have Spring to celebrate here...:)

This was my juice today... Red cabbage, apples, ginger, cinnamon.

The kids and I plan to watch Mark and James school program this evening at there school. We got a hand written invitation in the mail the other day so I'm sure they will be happy to see us. It will be good to be out of routine anyway with "Daddy" not coming home at 5 o'clock!

Some neat quotes that have been helpful to me... Hope you are enjoying them.

It feels good to be more aware of food additives but it gets frustrating at times to have to keep such an eye on it! Wish everything could just be healthy and natural then we wouldn't have to stress over it so much...:) I don't stress though and I find it can be an adventure. It's just that I have this "Little Girl" that refuses to taste new things and she seems to know if it's anything healthy I introduce it's a great time to give me a fit! We are down to very few items on her menu!! She is a pancake and syrup girl! Oatmeal with brown sugar girl! Cereal girl! (no eggs at all!!:( ) some fruits but limited! No veggies at all!! I'm about to pull out my hair with her... The boys all adjusted way better and they don't seem to mind when we have no processed food here. Like I said "baby steps" and I do see it improving some but she still likes to try me out...:/

I'm upping the running miles! Four Monday, Five yesterday. As Spring weather hits I'm sure it will get me out even more...:) The boys are getting into it again to and I can tell it does wonders for them. The only thing is if you see them running the drive at odd times it's because it's a new found punishment we have adopted! Jordan's nurse told us she makes her son do "push ups" when he does something that requires punishment! She said he can do 100 no problem now!! I figure running is at least good for them...

I like this quote to... "Baby Steps" is what we use. We still have far to go in the line of healthier lifestyle! But I like to think we have come some of the way...:)

Have a great "First day Spring!" We hope it brings warmth soon...:)
