Day At Sea..

We spent the day out on the water. It was a blast and I'm sure it will be a day that we will all remember for a long time to come!! It was sad that it was a bit rainy. The water was warm and the air was warm to, but once we were wet the air was suddenly cold and it just wasn't as fun as if the sun were shining.

I think today was a cold winter day for the Belizians! It was on the warm side compared to back home but still not the best for an all day planned on the sea.

I will share the pictures as I go because they tell the whole story...:)

We started out off the dock at eight thirty this morning with Tony and a helper. We went out a ways to throw in a net to catch the sardines we used for bait! Tony cast the net twice and he came up with plenty of sardines for our day of fishing!!

We first checked some lobster traps and my guys caught fourteen lobsters!

Then we went to another spot and fished for snappers. Justin had the best luck and caught a few nice ones...

 

Then we headed off to another spot to go trolling for barracuda fish! This was just two lines with a few live sardines on the end of a large hook then we just let the lines hang out the back as we slowly cruised the boat along! Jordan was the lucky one this time and it was such a blast to watch him! He is a natural with fishing for sure!

These were his fun catches of barracuda!... Lunch for us today along with the lobster!!

 

This kid was a hooting and hollering as he was reeling this thing in! We were all cheering for him as we were getting caught in the next downpour!! He could have cared less about the rain, this was so much fun!!

 

This thing was almost as big as the Little's!...

 

We saw a few neat star fish!...

 

We headed off to a beach where Tony the guide and his helper cooked us lunch! Lobster tails all dressed up with seasoning and butter! The barracuda steaks all dressed up! Potatoes, coleslaw and beans! A fresh squeezed fruit punch, sodas and water!! All hit the spot after all the hard work! And fresh as you get it!...:) The rain had us bundled in towels though and we had to eat lunch on the boat rather then on the beach...

 

 

We stopped at a place called "shark ray alley" on the ride back where Dave and Justin got off the boat and went swimming with the sharks!! Tony was cleaning the fish and giving them the junk so they were swarming our boat! Dave and Justin just hung out with snorkel gear and watched them. Justin was a bit flipped out a few times I think!...:)

 

Justin trying to keep his distance but a few times Tony threw the fish right next to where Justin was swimming then he would laugh as Justin flipped out!...:)

 

 

We were all soaked to the bone and cold by the time we returned to our room.! We were out until about five o'clock this evening. The Little's did great and loved it! Nobody got sick except the helper guy who was throwing up over the boat at one point!

 

It was still a fun day despite the rain and a few times we just had to laugh at the sight of us!!

 

We are sad that Jenika has been supper for the mosquito's the past few nights!! It took me a few nights to realize they were eating at her while she was sleeping! She is the only one not in a bedroom since she is on the pull out couch in the living room, the bugs do not like air condition and the bedrooms have air, the rest of us have all been fine except for this poor girl!! Look at her lovely face!! The other side is just as bad to!! I tell her she looks like she has chicken pox!! She will be in the bedroom tonight for sure!!

 

We are all tired and the showers have never felt better! I still feel like I'm being rocked back and forth but the day was a memory making one for sure...:)

 

The snow back home sounds fun to! Yes dad I'm sure they could use a painter around here to! We will be ready to come home by next week though so might as well stay put and warm things up for us...:)
