As our time winds down here I find myself treasuring every moment! How will I not miss this!!???...
My lovable seven year old on the back porch early this morning with his sight words and flash cards. Then my coffee from my favorite mug and a great bible character book! (thanks Marilyn!)
We are back into school! Last week was rough on my Little's even though they so enjoyed time here with cousins! I had told Ariel that I wanted a more "low key week" with less homework and I wasn't working with them on the side like I had been previously.
It worked out great though because the kids were actually ahead of the homerooms so we slacked last week and we so enjoyed it! BUT... Today was rough! Javon had a short attention span and he only got a few problems of his speed drill before the one minute timer went off! (very unusual for Javon!)
We are back to on the side reading, flash cards, sight word drills, bible memory and homework! I'm hoping tomorrow will go better then today. I felt bad for Ariel at one point as the Little's acted so ready to be done when only a few minutes into it! I'm wondering how they will survive hours in the classroom again!?..:)
The day here was so true blue. beautiful and hot but the ocean breeze made it bearable! We only did a short time on the beach this afternoon because we didn't do a snack after school and the kids were soon hungry so we just came home and prepared an early supper (4:00!) It is great to have a flexible schedule and when supper is ready I just send one of the kids on a search for Dave. He is most times busy on the property somewhere and he soon walks in to the prepared meal! I'm LOVING cooking here!! Breakfast and supper is fun to cook!
We have new guests. We still have the Good's and Edelman's here. They leave tomorrow. and today Reuben and Marilyn (from Kansas) moved in with there five children and Dave Nissley's just arrived tonight to! Jenika has made friends with Reuben's girls already and I can tell they will have a blast! These new guests both leave by the weekend so we hope to spend some time with them while they are here. Tomorrow night is couples dinner night so that should be fun!
So much progress is happening here on the grounds!! I took a walk this morning and this is what I found...
So much progress across the water canal this week...
New bushes all the way up at the end to split the phase. It looks great!
Back of House... This is where laundry and housekeeping will be along with storage for maintenance and so on.... It's is coming along great!
This is the show model residential house being worked on... The pool has gone in and they are working on the deck now! These will have there own pool, boat slip and nice size back yard!
These trees will go and a park will be put here...
The General Store is coming along great to!! Guys are spread out all over these big main buildings right now!
We have a fish guy! He is stationed right next to "Road to Cayo". Road to Cayo is furniture. It is beautiful and it is also what is in the units so if people like what they see they can buy pieces.
The new sign that was placed this week...
This is prep work for another big building across from the concrete houses and just up from Rum & Bean... It is an exciting one that involves chocolate... I'll share more soon...:)
We did lunch before the bridge at the park before going for corn hole...
Our guys made it into the semi finals but got beat by a point to a couple. The lady just kept shooting corn holes and I think she even surprised herself! It was a hot day and we were so happy to go with old friends/new friends swimming!! Reuben and Marilyn came to our church years ago and we got married only a couple of weeks apart and had our first two babies close together. Then they moved to Kansas and we hadn't seen them for years! So we caught up with old friends while the kids so enjoyed making new friends! Jenika is right in between two of Reuben's girls and they hit it off right away!... She was thrilled when they moved out of the resort they were staying at up north to here on site today! They will be here until later in the week and I'm sure the kids will be back and forth...:)
I'm tired... The school kids were in bed early. Justin was ordering shoes online so they are to be at the house when he gets home. He is going for a job interview tomorrow but for now he is doing great being patient and hanging with us so much! We are enjoying him tons! He is getting anxious to get home but he has had fun here this winter! His most favorite thing for supper..."Salad!" I guess you can tell he is doing "Insanity" and we are enjoying greens from "Ambergreens"!!
We are thinking of home more and as I do my daily chores here my mind is on how I will be back to doing these same chores soon at my big house back home! How different life is here! How will we adjust!?? I try not to go there just yet but it's coming up soon ready or not!... Good night and Blessings from Belize tonight...
