It has been a great end to our work week here!
This morning was spent at our church council meeting day. It is always great to hear about the old testament days and I never get tired of how H.K. brings them to life in his messages! He has a way of making you feel as if you were right there, in that time, at that moment. Dave and I had the Bible out even again after lunch and we were rereading and discussing some of the times of Moses. The earth swallowed up some of the Israelites! The women and children!!?? Into the pit!?? Is that Hell?? Hard to imagine some of those happenings and the way God lead them through that wilderness for forty years is beyond me!!
We had our great group of friends (Mike's, Jr Roses, John Jr's, Dutchy Jr's and Matt's) here last evening for a "four wheeler" party!! We got the Little's there four wheeler back in early Summer and they ride it everywhere on our large property! We had our friends over soon after they had the four wheeler and they all thought it was the coolest thing! Since then we have added three more small wheelers to the group!! Matthew got one. Jerome got one. The twins (Damian and Cameron) got one for there birthday coming up, it was even still brand new for them last evening!! Happy birthday to the twins!!
The party was off to a late start because a few of them had other plans first so it was mostly dark by the time they all got here, because of this the four wheeler thing was not the greatest idea and I got no pictures of them riding! Matthew had to come without his because it was in the "fix it" shop. The other kids were more into indoor fun because of the darkness, so we adults just hung around the campfire as the kids hung out in the house... (Yes I'm finding food from the basement to the attic today yet!!) It's always a blast to host this crowd though and we again had fun catching up on our lives!
We really miss not seeing these friends at church anymore but now we just look forwards to our parties more then ever! "Catching up" goes a little deeper and it was late before the campfire was put out! Thanks for coming and making our night you guys!!
The Little's spend hours at the barn on Sunday afternoons with the pony. The four wheeler is what they are using to go back and forth today. The weather is perfect for this right now! When it's hot in the Summer the shaded wooded house hut or the pool is the popular place, in the winter months they opt to be indoors more so we are enjoying seeing them enjoy the wonderful outdoor fall weather!
Last week was busy, I'm ready to slow down! The guests here the past week ends took preparing and plus other things going on, it kept me stepping, yet it was so much fun. I'm now ready to move on with some Fall cleaning and organizing, clipping off flowers and all of the shrubs around here get a good chopping in the fall. Believe it or not Christmas shopping is on my mind! With Belize this Winter it will need to be an early Christmas for us and I'd like to be prepared when it comes upon us.
I plan to keep it a simple Christmas shopping season...
Sister Marilyn had a surgery this past week, she was on my mind and in my prayers so much! She had a D&E done one day last week. (scraping of her uterus) She was so undecided but she went into this thing thinking she might just get her tubes tied. She has a few fibroid tumors on her uterus, also only has one tube to, so after four miscarriages they were ready to end this.
I was praying for her on the day she was to have her surgery and a few minutes later this quote came up on my phone...~! I got the flutters all the way to my toes as I thought of Marilyn again!
I was very supportive of either decision they made, and she knew that but what was I supposed to think when this quote came through just minutes after I prayed for them~!? Anyway I did end up passing it off to them. I don't think she was ready to have the procedure done either way...She was only pregnant last week and these decisions take time. They did hold off and we are still praying for a Glick baby!!...:) Best wishes Sam and Marilyn!!
Next week looks like another different week, Dave is heading off to Belize again! He is taking a group of people with him, (15 people) to do the Belize tour that we did there last winter. I would love to go along and especially since way more ladies will be going with this time, but the kids need me here and I wasn't into leaving them, plus with us going in December I decided to skip this time. It will be five days out for him.
Justin has a hiking trip planned with his class! They will be hiking nineteen miles one of the days!!
He is looking forward to it, they will be roughing it and carrying packs up and down mountains, only high protein snacks for lunch and campfire eating for a few days... I'm sure he will enjoy the outdoors but we sure will miss him here!
I just got an email in from Dave and Rose! It had been weeks since we heard from them!! They are doing well and sound as busy and involved as ever!! They had fun with some American guests the past weeks and it sounds like they are expecting more in the next months. I'm sure that makes the time go by fast when you have American guests!
Thanks so much to for the scarfs Rose!! Jenika and I want to take a picture wearing our scarfs and send it to you! Jenika figured out how to carry her "teddy bears" around on her back in the scarf already!:) I love them! We think of you often the way as it is but I'm sure we will be thinking of you every time we wear these scarfs now. Our days are getting chilly so we will sure enjoy them!!
My new phone screen saver...:)
My runs have been fewer but the runs I do are longer ones. I now go out afternoons, the bugs are so bad but the temps are still perfect. I just needed to gear myself different and I do really miss morning runs but I can do it this way to! I got in a seven mile yesterday. Then it was juice for breakfast... This is what I juiced... a GREEN JUICE...
Green apple. kale, spinach, cucumbers, green grapes and I also added ginger. It wasn't very good but it was drinkable...:/
My last runs got my running app up over the thousand mile mark...
I had decided once I reach a thousand miles I was going to get a new running app because my GPS shows a weak signal with this Nike one. I think I'll look into another one soon. I don't always adjust to change to well so I push it off longer then I'd like to...
The campfire is burning, the guys are playing football, the Little's are on the four wheeler somewhere... And probably barefoot!! So I'm off to join them all...
Fun... Fun... Fun...
Yes we are still grilling those trout Jordan brought up from Amy's pond back in June... So yummy they are when grilled this way...:)
Have a great week... Be a blessing to someone...
